Jesus. My wife got some live CD that's been playing for like two lifetimes tonight. She likes it. I may have to kill her.
I mean, early 80's U2 sounded kinda okay in the early 80's, but what the hell are these people thinking?

...got my mom the same CD for Christmas. Not that I dislike Coldplay, but I do certainly dislike hearing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and...
I dig coldplay, even though it seems they are selling out. Good chill music, but sometimes makes me depressed.
Don't really know either band, but I'd have to give the nod to the "Macarena" or "Who Let the Dogs Out" bands.
ABBA
Shimmery guitars, plaintive vocals, occasional crescendos, attempts at anthems, Coldplay is a bad copy of a band I didn't like very much the first time around.
I was lying in the bedroom with pillows over my head a few minutes ago, hoping that I would die or the music would stop.
Either option was fine with me.
Gee, in a world that brought Warrant, Limp Bizkit, Foreigner, New Kids On The Block, The B-52s, and Van Haggar, Coldplay can't possibly win the title of "Worst Band In The History Of The World"
GEE, I guess you told me.
None of those, with the exception of NKOTB, can drive me up the wall quite like Coldplay. It may be just because I hear their songs all the time, but I concur with Iceman, Coldplay may be the worst.Quote:

And NKOTB ain 't even a band.
Coldplay Parachutes = good CD. There also are some nice moments on the Rush of Blood CD. But...
Coldplay live CD = no thanks :o
Radiohead started out very much the same. Listen to Pablo Honey--lots of U2 influence there.Quote:

And Dexter will reply, "yes, they suck too." :p
Just because something goes popular doesn't mean it sucks. Coldplay was a good band before they broke big. And they still are. How have they "sold out"? By making money? Those bastards!

i agree...nothing to do with them selling out or whatever. they just bug the shit out of me.
Speaking of gwynneth, surely her duet with Huey Lewis is worse than her man's band.
I love coldplay. In addition to Linkin Park and Radiohead, only decent bands out there right now.
coldplay [shudder] ugh
Radiohead probably is one of the greatest bands on the planet. Man I just got done listening to "the bends" what a great cd.
come on Plakespear, dont bust VanHaggar, I loved those guys back in the day.
while i agree that coldplay makes me want to shove a pencil in my ear, they did lead to the greatest music metaphor i've ever heard. somehow we ended up (via chuck's shitty mix-making) listening to that crappy song that's like 'home home where i something something' and gaperteddy was like 'whoa, this song sounds like allen iverson playing basketball backwards'.
needless to say we listened to the song like 4 times in a row after that.
Yup, beginning to end one of the best cd's in my meager collection. :cool:Quote:

Coldplay I can tune out, but Radiohead makes me praise the Lord for push button radios.
That's a great album...I used to listen to "Anyone Can Play Guitar" before skiing...then "Blowout" on the way home. There's a version of "Blowout" with Portishead floating around that's good listening.Quote:

"The Bends" and "OK Computer" are also awesome.
Our first date, my girl had "the bends" in her CD player. I knew this was the one.Quote:

Don't know much about Coldplay.........
But U2 IS THE GREATEST BAND IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:p :p :p :p
:D
Is Coldplay the worst band in the history of the world?
Nope. Gotta vote for Phish.
Coldplay? Is that the worst?
Consider:
1) The Crapenters with the treble turned up to 11.
2) Zamphir after too much retsina.
3) The GoGos.
4) Jorge Santana (thank your deities if you've never heard it, I'm still playing evil fruit cake gift with that thing 20 years later).
5) Creed
6) Angel (Punky's lips, eh?)
7) Never ever overlook Henry Cow or the Art Bears for sheer annoyance.
Yeah. Creed, man. Fucking Creed is the worst fucking fucked band to ever fucking play.
i mean, i'm a smelly kid and all, and i like my drugs, but what's with following around a crappy coverband that sounds like a cat falling down a well?Quote:

How kind of you! Most people take the easy route and call me stoopid.Quote:

Drinking too much retsina...definitely brave...or maybe stoopid:D
I'll make it up with a 95 Vogue' tonight, mkay?
Coldplay was the band of the year in SPIN magazine. They really kiss their ass. I heard the album and it was horrible. I don't understand how anyone could enjoy listening to that crap. It may have been worse than the first Jewel album.
Creed and Phish were great nominees for the worst album(s) ever as well.
Live Phish - the guy plays a fucking VACUUM CLEANER!!! QED
There's a band out of NY called The Rapture that literally sounds like a cat being sodomized.
Creed: You're holier than I am. Go meet Jesus... NOW.
Would someone please return Rod Stewart's penis?
"The Dead" - Ouch, quit it. Jerry died, get over it. It's starting to look like a long strange trip to the bank. Same goes for the Who and the Stones.
Van Halen ceased to exist after "1984." REM after "Green."
But my most hated musical artist (besides Celine Dion) is John Mayer. Maybe if we ignore him long enough he'll go away.
Sweet. Gotta love a kick ass burgundy. Here's my selection for the evening:Quote:

When I saw this thread title Creed instantly came to mind as pure shit. Not surprising to see them called out earlier.
No...he must be stoned to death ASAP.Quote:

You got that right. All Coldplay has to do is act more 'arty' and self-important, and they'll be on the road to Radioheadedness.
And I had been proud of my restraint for not bringing the tonally challenged boys from Radiohead into this earlier when it first crossed my mind...So much for that. Thank AD for it.
