Very sad :frown: , and if true, the Colts will win the superbowl. The team will play hard for their coach.
ESPN has it now... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2268593Quote:

Right before X-Mas too. Nothing is sadder or more depressing.
Tony is loved here, this will be really tough on him.
With the way the Giants have been playing - it could happen. Giant-Skins game could be real interesting this weekend.Quote:

I don't see a contradiction between loving someone and hating them for killing themself.
I think it's pretty well known that an NFL coach's family life isn't all that great. They pretty much spend their whole lives around the team.
If you lose a loved one to suicide you don't "hate" them for taking their life, you feel REALLY bad that you couldn't have done more to help them out but by no means do you hate them.Quote:

Lets not start a big discussion here, it has all been said before anyways. Suicide sucks and the Dungy family has just been dealt a major blow at a time of the year when they need it the least.
I didn't mean to start anything when I made that statement earlier, lets just send positive vibes to those in need right now.
amen...it's not exactly the subject to argue about...positive vibes to the Dungy's.Quote:

My brother killed himself (right before X-mas, too). And I totally agree with you. :frown:Quote:

Oh, McWop - I didn't see this thread 'til just now. I'll see what I can find on our wire.
Here's our latest, and it's from last night:

Dungy's son found dead
Thu Dec 22, 2005 10:51 PM ET
By Robert Green
TAMPA, Florida (Reuters) - The 18-year-old son of Tony Dungy, head coach of the top-ranked Indianapolis Colts football team, was found dead on Thursday in Tampa, police said.
A spokeswoman for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to James Dungy's apartment at about 1:30 a.m. by his girlfriend. They were unable to revive Dungy and he was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Dick Bailey, a spokesman for the Hillsborough Medical Examiner, said an autopsy to determine the cause of death will not be completed until Friday at the earliest.
The St. Petersburg Times quoted Bailey as saying that Dungy's death was "apparently a suicide."
Asked by Reuters about whether it was a suicide, Bailey said, "I know of nothing to conflict with that," adding that the cause of death would not be conclusive until the autopsy was finished.
Tony Dungy, in his 10th season as a National Football League head coach, directed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 until he was fired after the 2001 season. He turned the Buccaneers from perennial losers into winners that made the NFL playoffs four times in six years.
After he was fired following a playoff loss in January 2002, Dungy was immediately hired by the Colts.
This season the Colts won their first 13 games before losing last Sunday at home to San Diego. They play at Seattle this Saturday.
Dungy and his family kept close ties with Tampa after he left. He was active in civic events in Tampa and Indianapolis and remained popular with Tampa fans.
Dungy and his wife have two other sons and two daughters. James and his brothers were often on the sidelines at Dungy's games, and he often said his most important job was being a father.
"It's hard to fathom what this means unless you're a parent, and if you are a parent, there aren't any words to express the kind of pain that I'm sure they're feeling," Colts president Bill Polian told reporters in Indianapolis.
Dungy flew to Tampa after learning of his son's death, the Colts said.
Colts assistant head coach Jim Caldwell will lead the team until Dungy returns, Polian said.
You're an asshole:fuckyou:Quote:

Yeah I agree with you honestly, it just still boggles my mind when I see one of your posts nowadays and it isn't rife with antagonistic intent. It throws me for a loop.Quote:
