I'm out, gotta ride (skiing is marginal right now). I'm going to be in Moab for the next two nights, riding UPS Saturday, probably Amasa back Sunday morning with a moto ride after each MTB ride. Anyone need a fix? I’ll be on the UPS shuttle probably around 1000 tomorrow. I'll be by myself so I'm open to any company. Later.

Just got back this afternoon myself. Way cool weekend (although I still feel a bit guilty about leaving AG at home). Real good turn of events when I talked the owner of Slickrock Bike into finally doing a ride with us (we've been trying to get a ride in for about 2 years). Like CS said, it is SO COOL to learn new lines on a trail you think you know pretty well. I ended up staying again last night so I could moto this morning. Day break at Monitor / Merrimac is freakin' awesome. I did not see one person until I left. I ended up in a box canyon with 300' walls completely surrounding me, too cool. The way the weather is looking, this might be our first riding Thanksgiving......:nonono2: and:biggrin: at the same time.

Yep you can see the trail make a hard right just past the tree. It's gnar. Just walking down that section is freaking tough...I've fallen a couple times just trying to walk down with bike.
BTW, if by some cruel joke this weather is still hanging on in a couple weeks, I will be heading down to Moab Dec 3-4.

Yeah, I neglected to include the previous two pictures. It's actually a 3 shot sequence there. I just posted the end, which is a very hairball 90 degree turn off of rocks. Since that pic is taken from above (pretty much the only place you can take a pic) you loose some of the gnarliness of that line. Basically, you have to ride down the tunnel of doom which is steep as hell and make an almost 90 degree turn to the right. I would be down for a Baja trip in the spring. It would be a long drive down to haul the XR400 but worth it for week of Baja exploration.
Side note whats Moab like in mid January? I never been there, could add it to my route west. I will have my mtb and xr400 with me on my drive out. Current plan is to drive to Denver and set the route from there to Vancouver based on weather.
Flow--have you found the DH trails in Breck yet? I'm sure they're probably too cold and snowy now, but if you guys haven't found them yet ask around at Polar Revolution @ Keystone or maybe some of the other Summit Cty shops. Basically they are above French Creek (the good ole trailer park behind the 7-11 on Hwy 9). Although they have been developing a ton since I've been there so they may have been destroyed by now...
I too am realizing what a jem I Street is...Fresno is supposed to be this BMX mecca at the very least and all it has is a couple tracks. The few DJ areas are just on vacant lots and those get bulldozed for new developments constantly. weak. And there is basically one DH trail that is essentially a glorified Bobsled... :nonono2:
