<antijinx>I say SLC sees some snowfall next weekend</antijinx>
no halloween date in the poll.......mad jinxing going on there...
Who gives a shit! Skiing sucks! I'd MUCH rather be hanging out in 70 degree temps, climbing sunny rock.
yeah, right
Seriously, fuck snow. I mean riding bikes is super sweet. Especially when I break chains, yentna has problems staying on her bike and altagirl can't keep less than a dozen rear derailleurs together in one season. Maybe I'll still get a chance to t-bone that bull moose I missed 2 weeks ago.
It sucks, but I think we will have a relatively late start this year.Quote:

Just don't see anything like that happening anytime soon.
I voted for the 11/21 - 11/28 option.

I'm going with Brighton or Park City (man made) opening between Nov 7th and 13th.
Hopefully we get some snow soon. My mom takes her 1st grade class to the zoo every year at the end of October and for the past few years she has been rained and snowed on. She takes her class this week so hopefully we get some snow. I think it will be between 12 or 18th of November just because that is the week my wife and I move in to our house. So no skiing for me probably untill thanksgiving.
I think I'm over biking, and snow sucks. Why don't I sit on the couch for the next few weeks? That sounds appealing, so GNAR! I'm the core couch sitter.
Nice photo, that guy rips.  :biggrin:Quote:

That was the best Trick or Treat I've ever had. I think this year we are going to get the trick (and I'm not talking about the good kind for $50 either).
Heading out to utah this weekend for a friend's annual shindig. Brought the skis last year and hit brighton on the opening days. it was off the hook. Should I bring the skis this time for hiking?
I think it's the other way around. Normal is to have most of the Utah resorts open between mid-Nov and Thanksgiving. Last year was a fluke. That much snow before Halloween was supposedly only the second time in 75 years. I know I'm being a little optimistic to think that either Brighton or PC will open between the 7th and 13th, but I'm fairly comfortable that it could happen. :)Quote:

Yeah, bring 'em. Its totally going off at Alta right now.

As far as I can recall, it was a "temporary" back-seat. Happens to the best of us.Quote:

I stay outta that food court; the chinese guys own the pizza place and the greek guys have a mexican restaurant??? What's up with that?
You're much safer at Subway or Roberts...
Also, I would not put it past the old Nordic Valley, now Wolf Mountain, to sneak in out front this year, if Ogden Valley temps allow...
I'm rather disappointed that the low temps in LCC (Collins Study Plot, 9662 MSL) have been hovering around the upper 30's, low 40's.Quote:

Yea, but they have no desire to open before Thanksgiving, and besides they've never run Middle Bowl without a way down to the bottom, so they have to make waay more snow than most places to open.Quote:

If I remember correctly Nordic Valley has THE lowest base elevation, not just in Utah, but of all the Rocky Mountain States (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana). Staying cold enough, long enough to beat out Brighton will be a tall order for them.
We'll cross our fingers for them. :)
Yep. It's low. I looked it up. Whoa. It's the same base elevation as the mile-high city of Denver. What does that mean? Well, that's 4,000 feet lower than Alta's Albion parking lot, and more than 3,000 feet lower than Brighton's. And it only has about 1000 vert. That's gonna make it a challenge to open before the Cottonwoods, but they should go for it just to kick-off the new place with a lot of publicity!
NOAA says that there is a good chance of snow in the Wasatch this weekend. Let's start getting that base together.
When you're stalked all day by the papparrazi like Mr.AG you're bound to have an off moment captured on film.Quote:

Thank you. I was starting to really question if I should ever ski again after seeing that picture. Luckily for me, I enrolled in Gordy's camp a few months later. :DQuote:

What the hell was I doing on Spat on Nov 5???? Must have been a good year.
yeah, they're bent up...you get in the back seat and there's nothing there...not a very good feeling.Quote:
