Been skiing Kastle MX98 in a 194 for 14 years. I have been through about 15 pairs and I have two more in the wrapper but need to find something to replace it.
Any suggestions.
Needs to have these characteristics:
-190 or larger
-cambered ski or very very little rocker on the tip or tail
-prefer vertical sidewall, torsion box construction.

The FL one nine two one oh five is a bad, bad mama jama, I own them. Good luck finding the top end, seriously.
Maybe the HL RC nine five, it may/will have more tip/tail rocker than you want. Plus it’s not close to one nine four, not sure you’ll need that length as its a serious weapon, esp in the comp build. Again, good luck finding the top end, for real. It will be more fun than a flat tail jammer and more versatile , fosho and I dig flat tail jammers, hello Rnine nine COMP.

Just mount up another pair of MX98s or decide to change how/where you ski or what experience you want to have. My son took out a pair of my MX98s today and I skied my 191 Billy Goats. We both had fun, but somewhat different experiences.
If you are on firm snow, try a Mens FIS GS ski. It’s a similar experience to the 194 MX98. Same length/radius/dampness but grips icy spots with more tenacity.

I think someone who ripped through 15 pairs of 194cm MX98s in 14 seasons gets to post wherever he damn well pleases. You’re giving the ski you recommend a death sentence.
I Have a couple of pairs of WC GS Skis, Vandeer 30 m 193. Ski is truly insane. I have a pair of atomic wc gs skis, 186 27 meter and a 190 30 meter.Quote:

I've been on the 184 MX98 (the good iteration) for years.
Recently been skiing the HL 185 FL105 in that slot, and I prefer it in all respects.
I would seriously consider the 192 FL105 if I were you.

Geat ski but i find that the tip deflects too much at speed. I also find that in deeper snow, I can feel and see the ski flex just in front of the binindg which I have. The MX 98 plows through snow, no deflection when at speed and there is no flex at the binding toe speed. I probably need to change my skiing style.Quote:

The upside of the price is superb durability, as stiff as you can handle and literally any variation one is willing to pay for. Not to mention an ace of a builder who enjoys getting to know his clients. And he's a world class skier himself.
