RIP Phil. Thanks for the memories...
RIP to an old friend, thanks for the memories.
hell of a run and played to the end. thank you
Phil brought the vibe. We just watched the magic. During the Rat Dog years my wife and I would always hit the Phil shows whenever they came around. Phil shows always carried the best vibe/scene. RIP, brother.
The world already seems emptier knowing he'll never drop those bombs again.
Such a long, long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.
Phil and Friends at Red Rocks was always an epic experience.
Just saw this somewhere else and knew it would be on here.
The glue that held that band together (along with Bill K).
He was phenomenal at the Dear Jerry show at Merriwether Post. Missed too many Phil & Friends shows....
I ‘memba.

There is a reason this show is widely revered, and I'd argue its because of Phil bringing the funk.
I’ll one up you and was this was the Phil bomb

Guy played bass like he invented the instrument. Edited to give credit to Jerry Garcia

Yes, it's me, I'm the Pride of Cucamonga
I can see golden forests in the sun
Oh, oh I had me some loving
And I done some time
I always called him Uncle Phil, guy felt like family. I’m sad
rip
I still like the show from Passaic, NJ 6/19/76 and the 5/8/77 Cornell show. Pretty sure Phil was in good graces with the chemistry department at Cornell.
The little smile Phil gives to Jerry on Help On the Way/Slipknot/Franklin's Tower/The Music Never Stopped is the same grin he's giving to Jerry about now after walking through St. Peters gates. Hope the Phil Bomb's drop this winter.
Rest in Rhythm, Phil.
You were there? Nice. Me too. My regret is not asking some guy hanging out by the Natty Boh tent if he had change for a nickel. Turns out it was most likely tipster.
Anyway.
RIP Phil.
Last leaf fallen, bare earth where green was born
Above my doorknob, two eagles hang against a cloud
Sun comes up blood red
Wind yells among the stone
All graceful instruments are known

Darn. Amazing life. Grateful for what he left us All.
And it's just a box of rain
Or a ribbon for your hair
Such a long long time to be gone
And a short time to be there
:(
Last photo that I snapped of Phil at Egyptian Theatre in Park City with his son Graham and Amy Helm (Levon's daughter). Circa April 2022

This quote made me laugh -
In a letter lamenting the cost overages during the recording of their second album, 1968’s “Anthem of the Sun,” Joe Smith of Warner Bros. singled him out as the catalyst for chaos within the band: “It’s apparent that nobody in your organization has enough influence over Phil Lesh to evoke anything resembling normal behavior.”

Phil's life in pictures.
Thanks for all the Biscuits...
Lesh Great,
More Philing!
Friend recommended this Phil and friends show, specifically the first dark star sandwich: https://archive.org/details/1999-04-...97.sbeok.flacf
