RIP ski_faster
Long time member and buddy of mine passed away this morning. Not a lot of details at this point. All I know is he drowned in a lake in California. Rescue divers pulled his body up from about 250' down. Friends and family were with him and they all went to bed last night on a house boat. They heard a splash in the middle of the night and couldn't find him so called 911. I got the call from his wife this morning. Tough times for everyone who knew him.

Wow. Seems like I knew him from more than just here....mag down. :(
Life is a game of chance.

Damn, so many people so broken not getting the help that could save them. Either an accidental, or intentional check out... Some kind of impairment and illness takes another one who obviously had loving friends and family who would have helped prevent this had they had some way of knowing it might be imminent.

This is such sad news to hear.
So sorry for this loss.
Ten years ago ski_faster showed me around Bogus Basin the first time I skied there. He even took me on a fun little sidecountry tour that involved skinning back up to the resort. Here are a couple photos of him from that day.

On that day he shared the joy of skiing with someone he had never met before. He certainly will be missed.

This sucks. Vibes. Which lake did this happen?

Terrible news, sorry. Sounds like this mag made a positive impact on others, all one can really strive for in life.

Yes. Joe was a solid dude. He guided up in the Sawtooths for awhile, rafted some gnarly stuff, and typically had an ear to ear grin. Thanks for the vibes. Shoot them to Joe’s wife. She lost her husband and my best friend to leukemia six years ago. I introduced Joe to her. Two husbands in six years...can’t imagine.
I’m not sure what lake or pretty much any other details. I’m waiting for the call to head down when they need help.
