Nevada is a hidden gem.
wait there is more than terminal cancer in NV?
Dude! You have no idea.
Plenty to do in Nevada

welp indeed
F yeah!
I'm obsessed with Nevada as well. I'd love to go explore back country ski lines out there but I don't have the means right now to make that happen. Hopefully one day.
The whole state has this weird, mysterious thing about it.
This guy absolutely charges big back country lines in what looks like questionable marginal conditions. It's impressive af. I was thinking about how ballsy it is and how I would never take those risks, especially in such remote country. Then the vid gets to that and he gets whooped on skiing that wild couloir on Hole in the Mountain. That face has some very spicy looking options beyond the eye grabber he's skiing.
I hope this is a series and we are going to get a lot more of this Nevada adventure skiing from Josh. It's fucking rad!
If you ever pass through Kingston make sure to stop in at the Lucky Spur, a remote little bar in the middle of nowhere.

The spur is still for sale, I see they've lowered the price now.
It's such a cool spot. A killer shuttle trail off that pass would make it worth it. Too bad the FS wants nothing to do with the project. If someone went in with $ they may have the persuading power but that guy didn't sound like he was looking for any more of a work load.
Josh is one of the best.

Outstanding! Wild looking terrain out there...
0 chill in his skiing.
Pretty rad
Top of the Notch
Love the project and they are skiing some lines that few have other thought about skiing. Couldn't find if there was another thread on this..

Nice video. I spent a few years drilling out of Elko and we would always take a few days off from time to time to explore. Nevada always seemed to be the last great wild place in the U.S.. I would fly out for six week shifts and my company would always make us take a few fatigue days mid shift so we would load up the work truck and head out to points unknown. I think I remember the winter of 20-21 being especially giving in terms of snow.
Great video.....and I concur, the desert state has a lot to offer beyond hookers and blow.

This thread delivers
About this time a couple of winters ago while returning from Death Valley via Central Nevada, I spotted a line that is now pretty high on my tick list. This past weekend, I was over in Carson City for a concert; went out 80 and returned via 50. What I can say for sure is that if anyone has anything they want to ski in the West Desert, this is the best year I've seen out that way since the year that photo of Trackhead was taken! Been ooooohing, aaaaahing and scheming pretty hard these past two days.
Sequel is out and it's incredible.

Some great and more aggressive than I expected skiing

Beautiful mountains and great skiing (Daiek must be one of the fastest skiers around), but who the hell dresses the poor man?
Could have done without the cheesy interview style.
This cat Wobby used to post all kinds of NV stoke in the Tahoe threads.
I hain’t seen him post much in the past few seasons, but his site is still active(ish):

FWIW, I skied Austin Summit once on my way out to Summit County…
Josh has made some poor decisions in the past and openly owned it, as he does in this 2.0 film talking about his crash from the first film and how lucky he was. Tof IMO was more in denial about his decision making.
There's SAR based out of Elko, so not that far away.
Can you really make those inferences from people YouTubes? Does that create it's own problem?
Its fucking TV. Judge all you want but, unless you've look somebody in the eye and had a really conversation with someone, you are just guessing. And that perpetuated "influencers" "curating" and image and a persons. Can we just stop with that and just take the "content" for what it is?
From my spot on the couch watching both back to back, I see a guy who was pretty freaked out by his accident last season. He was damn close to not walking out of those mountains and knows it. He changed up the game plan for 2.0 and nailed it imo. Awesome lines, quality stoke, with a little bit of self reflection sprinkled in. Josh goes hard and pushes the limit, but doesn't make excuses or down play the seriousness.
Anyone remember this Pow Mag story from 2010?

Exploring is rad. Adventuring is rad. Nevada is rad. This edit is rad. Me like.
Daiek's Instagram is pretty insane in general, but this is next level scary.

I don’t even know if that makes it into the all time top 5 Daiek sketchiest moments. https://www.instagram.com/joshdaiek/reel/DFxr-fXJ-Bt/.
Great skier, I hope he can stay lucky enough to grow old.
Josh is the skier we don't deserve. In a world full of insane skiers he's the standout right now IMO. Someone will send me a clip of something legit and gnarly......and I'll say, "Now watch THIS." and send them a Josh clip.
