Anyway, I came back from a work related trip to find a thrift store pot with a red mass permanently baked onto it. Further questioning revealed that she tried to cook the fuel. And fortunately stopped because "the consistency wasn't right" or something to that effect. No explosion that day. I'm glad everyone is ok. She scared herself a little which is good.
My youngest was interested for a while. He got the real instructions and made some good sugar rocket motors. But stopped because making the really good ones is a little harder and more involved. The neighbors were ambivalent about objects falling from the sky within a four house radius. There's a video of one landing on a canopy over our deck. It has a hole in it now.
