At the moment - it's just get out and "slide" for us.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b15a699067.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...20506b57ef.jpg
Not too bad here in south central western Mass right now. Firm and fast with some ice fur sure. I’m not tire doping and haven’t had too many issues.

0 for 2 on thread titles, man. At least try and put a little effort into it.

50% Velcro frozen dirt, 50% looked like this…. Cut it short at this point

hey y'all! Know there are some fine gravel fanatics on this thread so wanted to plug for a friend of mine who's been working on gravel infrastructure in rural Colorado and is wanting to expand some of their programming and offering (namely gravel travel guidebooks) to the Northeast.
Article here: https://www.velonews.com/news/gravel...e-field-guide/
If you know folks in the tourism offices you've worked with for gravel races or rides, or know who Juan should talk to about that, LMK! Send me a PM. Thanks for your help.
Change is coming for sure, the big question is does it stay or turn really warm like the forecasts are showing for next week.
I think that after 10 years of titling the thread I have a mental block. I mean, the old brain, it don't funkshun like it used to ya know *shrug*
Ride during the storm, then we'll be grooming, then the walkers will post hole our groom. Then we melt and more post holing.
We slogged along 4.5 miles last night. We had snowshoed and Hok ski groomed much of it. The untouched actually rode better, but was more work. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...1686eb371d.jpg
Chasing daylight at Bradbury.

We have ride anywhere conditions. It hasn't been like this in years. Bulletproof snow...including my driveway :). Skinned some pow laps yesterday, so gonna ride today as it looks like these conditions will be ending tomorrow.
Today was the best winter snow conditions I've ever ridden. Rode 2.8 studded and didn't sink anywhere. Even small jump supported landings. Stupid fast, ride anywhere, and the punchy tech stuff was like riding over a garden hose. Good gawd! So fun! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8237c26a9d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3174b6dc5a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...306f09086b.jpg
So fleeting, but those conditions are so fun. We get that like once every 5 years or so.

Velcro conditions replaced with luge runs

Ya, luge covered in an inch or two was interesting. Fat studs > skinny studs zero

2” makes for fun riding, fortunately not too much ice underneath.

Didn't look at my tire until now. I guess I f'd up big by not having time to "set" my studs before riding. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f018a327c3.jpg
That blows

New bike day. Better late than never.
The color is horrendous, but I like the weight, 27.5 tires, and 66 HT.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cff3fca910.jpg
Dirt, and only a few muddy spots in MA.
Is anyone out near Saranac Lake? I'm looking at buying some gravel panniers but need help securing and muling them to Vermont.
Oh hello...

Retirement savings are overrated.
Nice Big man!
Had one of the early versions of that bike and really liked it. Reasonably light, fast and versatile. Keep the rubber side down!
Ohh that's fancy, biggins!
I hope you're signed up for some gravel grinders so you can put that to use.
Muddy Onion coming up on 4/23 and the WATA grinder on 5/15!!
That Trad Grind on 5/15 sounds like fun. Is it a timed event or just a fun pace ride?
It's fun pace ride, no timing or anything. There's beer and shots at most of the rest stops so that gives you an idea of the level of seriousness. I've done the 50 miler the past 4 years and it's a blast......great route, climbing is about 5k of vert and the after party has great food and beer.
WATA does an exceptional job maintaining and keeping Perry Hill fresh and the annual gravel grinder funds a good chunk of that great trail work.
Wait….what?? Rastaman is insensitive??
