Really debating between these, Hawk XTD, and Lange XT Free Pro model....
Just worried these are going to be too upright.
Obviously get the one that fits your foot the best. That being said, the notion that the Lupo is too upright is most likely related to the stiffness of the tongue. Once you get used to the tongue or you swap it out for something softer and buckle the middle buckle well, they do not feel any different then a traditional boot.
I would worry about the Lange, as I hear they are still shipping with walk to ride soles with GripWalk as an aftermarket piece. They have been saying that for years...... GripWalk would come to Lange.
I have ax120 and like the fit. These are 98mm? Is it the one?

I am always lost with all the lupo models. Is this the sucessor to the white carbon/pro Lupo? Or something different?
Ultimate travel 50/50 boot, will likely be getting a pair soon too. Did they come with extra alpine soles?
These HDs are the heavier duty version, using (I believe) PU and polyamide instead of grilamid. A bit heavier but should have fantastic downhill performance. My carbon lupos sure ski extremely well though.
It's refreshing to see they went back to lime green.
Tried the Freetour 130s and they just didn't work for my foot. Was in/now back to my KR Pros and most likely getting these to replace them.

I've been riding the Carbon T.I.s for the past two seasons. I believe the Lupo Factory is the equivalent now? They have been a zero compromise boot for me, I'm perfectly happy with the extra 2-400g on the ups as the fantastic ROM, fit, and downhill capabilities are perfect for my use.
I do throw some Powerwraps in for resort only days though.
Curious as to whether these boots will be a legit inbounds replacement for a 130 flex alpine boot. Seems like they're closer to filling that niche than any other boot on the market.
If youve ever skied in lupo sp's (sean petit pro model) dalbello alpine boot, i find my lupo c ti (now the factory) a touch stiffer than the sp (i think they call the sp 130flex not sure). Not sure where this boot in the thread sits in regards to the factory/c ti though and then where does this 130 measure up to other companies 130. I think they have a higher cuff than a cochise fwiw

Currently I'm in some 2018 franken Lupo 130's. I do wish they had a little more forward lean and am likely gonna try a mod for that. It sounds stupid but what I really want is the cuff from a Krypton with a lupo clog... Its a unique need but I don't pull the tongues for my short side country laps and think the ability to alter the forward lean is worth more to me the rearward cuff motion. I have other boots for pure touring.
Theres some super clean mods in one lupo thread to get forward lean by just screwing in small ledge shims for the ski/walk lever to sit on. I just screwed in some cuff shims. My mod is a bit heavier but it works like the thinner of the 2 shims that came with lupo sp's. Mine are just generic shims with a single t-nut to the cuff on each

Thanks. That was my issue with the 120’s I have. For me they just weren’t enough in terms of flex and rebound. But I understand I was giving up DH performance for some up hill performance. My other issue I had with the 120 and the stock liner was with the heal pocket. Granted I didn’t spend a lot of time trying to solve it but it was always too loose for my foot..
Looking forward to the HD’s...
quick subscription as i contemplated replacing my lange xt freetours
These are a "B" tongue - same as the Krypton 130 & Factory, but very different from the 120 "P" tongue. What makes these way stiffer is the lower shell is Race PU plastics & comes up very high on the Lupo models. I will likely run "P" for In Bounds & seek a "M" for BC stuff personally.
B - 130 flex, PU material, hi rebound, lively
P - ~120 flex, Grilamid ish fiber, low rebounding, very damp
C - 110 flex, PU, hi rebound
M- 95 flex, Marphan (sp), low rebound
D- 85 flex, PU, mild rebounding
I believe the "P" tongue is Pebax. Marfran is from the same company as Irfran (Francesco Franceschetti Elastomeri) as found in the Lupo AX 120.
I bumped up to the 130 tongue in my ax120’s and have been happy
(210 lbs skier)
Yea...I was thinking about that or swapping out the stock liners...But wasn’t sure how much of a difference it would make. From what I am hearing the Pro HD with the PU really stiffens up the boot all around. I am not sure if the cuff Is different from the 120. I was on the fence all summer...but ended up pulling the trigger on the Pro HD..
I saw these last year and nearly wet my pants, but had the summer to let things cool off. I have the Lupo Factory and then found a late season deal on some KR Pro’s so I don’t think I really need to change things up this year. I’m patrolling Nordic this year anyway, soooooo...

New this year, the 120 swaps from P to C & factory goes B to C.
Last years 120 was soft, can’t I mange needing it any softer...
My Pro HDs came in yesterday. The flex is stiff for sure but feels good. The liner is nice but seems thick around the foot. As far as fit goes, it was tight around the mid foot but lots of room in the toe box, the heal pocket is tighter then my 120’s and that is a good thing for me. Molding/cooking the liners might fix how tight there were around my foot. But they were tight enough that I would not ski them that way
I put a pair of LV Dream Liners in and the fit was perfect. Bottom line...these boots are what I was looking for, right amount of flex, tight enough to allow for a good custom fit.
I assume these fit identically to the other non-AX Lupo boots?
Going to find a place to try some on but doesn't seem like a lot of places carry the HD.
Anyone out there who has skied the both the older Lupo Ti (with the green PU clog) and newer variants of the Lupo?
Compare/contrast?
Walk ROM looks a million times better on newer versions but are they as stout?
I have a NIB old stock Lupo Ti (green PU clog) and have yet to ski it.
I've owned and skied the Lupo ti, Lupo ti carbon and Lupo ax125. The green and carbon ski pretty darn close from my memory but it's been a while. I think the carbon might have a bit more rearward stiffness. The range of motion is much better with the revised walkmode. Not having a quick release on the tongues is a bit of a hassle for touring, but there are work arounds. The only reason I don't have the greens anymore is the lower shell cracked at they got replaced with the carbons.
The new blue AX120 is not as solid in terms of material thickness but flex feels very solid like 120. It’s thinner shell but flex feels linear and can drive big skis. ROM is great and I really like em

FWIW (just my 2 cents) - I think much of what folks make of this boot being "too vertical" is really the boot being too stiff. I found the B tongue in several variants of the lupos - was simply too stiff for myself, yet when I went to a P, the rebound was less harsh & I was able to leverage a much better position.
