Attn: Denver/Summit county mags.

Anybody gonna be available August 4th thru the tenth to show a Michigan boy around some local trails? I'm gonna be staying with a non-mag buddy in Golden during that time, but he will be working during the week.....I think we're heading up to Steamboat or Summit on the weekend to do some DH.

Anyways, if anyone wants to ride or do some hiking, let me know. I have little knowledge of the area, and I'm goona be all by myself on the weekdays. It would definitely be cool to meet some of you.

I'll check in periodically, I'm limited to a library computer at the moment.

very cool, well if you have a bike that you can XC, i can show you around on the 4th or 5th, there are tons of trail around Golden, that is the front range mecca.

I live in Golden. Shoot me a pm when you get in town and we'll figure things out.

I'm an XC weenie but I'll be around and would be up for trail in the F.R. or in Summit. Post up when you're here.

XC is actually preferred.....The bike I'm bringing is more long travel trail bike than DH, so XC trails would be great. Keep in mind I'm from Michigan though......which is to say not used to altitude. Or significant amounts of climbing. I think I'll be able to hang, though.

I'm coming in tomorrow at 5:30..........I think we are heading up to Vail on Friday night to spend the weekend DHing. Friday day, Monday and Tuesday riding partners (and possibly driving partners if trailheds are far away) needed. I'll post up on Thursday night.

You really should come to Utah and ride with an old co-worker sometime. The riding here isn't half bad.

I know........I'm not sure I'm meant to go to Utah, everytime I plan a trip there something ridiculous happens and I can't go.

Maybe this winter.

This just in: after a rain is the best time to ride the front range...it doesn't get muddy it just packs down the loose sand and shit. Get out there!

I think 2" of rain might make some places muddy. Yesterday was not your normal front range drizzle. But this afternoon should be ok.

What's the plan for today? I just got a call that my friend who was coming for the weekend got strep so she's coming next weekend now and I wanna ride.

The plan is.......there is no plan. my friend and I are heading out to dillon tonight, but I'm bored and lonely. I don't want to tar up trails, but if it's not gonna be an issue (I talked to a mag on the phoe who thinks maybe we should let stuff dry up a bit) I wanna go, like now.

hey bigsugar- got your message, couldnt make it out...Im out till tuesday, but whenever after that im down.

Thing 1: Thnks a ton for showing me around Lair of the Bear Crinkle. Had a blast.

Thing 2: Had an awesome time doing lift served at Vail and Keystone. Got rocked at Keystone, (fell about ten feet and landed on a rock) had to go to ER, deep bone contusion on my pelvis, but nothing that won't heal. They gave me good drugs though.......(percocet, yay) so I'm all loopy now. Unfortunately, it's about the worst pain I've ever been in (worse than a broken radius even), but I'll live. However, this experience helps me to justify buying a full-on DH bike, as well as some armor.
DH is fun.

I definitely am not riding tomorrow. :( Maybe Tuesday though. We'll see.

Even if I don't get to ride anymore on this trip, I still had the three most awesome days on a bike I've ever had, so I'll count it as a win.

WHOA, talk about going big. Like you said, if you were to get broken, at least it was done on Sunday. Heal fast.

update: the doc just called. They got the radiology report back........apparently they missed a couple of cracked ribs. Nice.
