What’s the over/under of Eldora being a complete clusterfuck on Friday? My youngest daughter is dying to go skiing and like any good father I want to nurture that desire.
Tried moving Thanksgiving so we could go Thursday but that didn’t fly.

Now that Copper and WP are open? Maybe only a mild clusterfuck.
Why don't they have night skiing? I hear they have night races.
Must be those $7.50 beers
Clusterfuck may have not materialized. Timbers webcam showing tons of empty chairs and 9:15 tweet says "plenty of parking." Looks like its gettign a light dusting. The snow was pretty good chalk yesterday. Damn, I need to get a bus pass.
After a long Thanksgiving we settled on an few afternoon laps, parked in about the fourth row, the main lot by the bunny hill was only about half full. Snow on the ground was pretty good, blowing snow was a bit much for the kiddos. Dad had fun though.
I wanted to post about Eldora, but didn't feel like starting a new thread. And since "Loveland tomorrow?" is the official Loveland thread, I figured "Eldora clusterfuck Friday?" was the perfect official Eldora thread. So I am going to coopt it.
They are open. There is skiing. There are groomers. Everything that doesn't have blown snow is pretty fucking bare.
Parking reservations are annoying AF, but at least it seemed to work somewhat smoothly.
They have a decent amount of groomers open, so it's definitely more than the WROD, and what is open is decent for what it is, but it is still pretty damn bare.
The Corona lift is open (in addition to Indian Peaks), which is really weird. There is nothing open under the Corona lift. So you can ride it up, head back toward the front, and then hit Around the Horn back to Corona, wtf? It would make some sense if concessions were open at the top, but of course they're not. Weird.
Ha! Saw the corona announcement and figured they had half of corona run going - next to like 10 snow guns... but thanks for the heads up that just reach-around the horn
Love that we got an E thread tho, thanks Danno
They had a shit ton of guns on corona (not going because warm) with some guys out there moving them around, so maybe it won't be long (though it needed a lot more snow).
I have never been to Eldora but it's 2020 and it makes perfect sense that a lift called Corona is running.
This is a perfect thread name for Eldora.
Ha! 2020, Corona, eldora, clusterfuck... yes, great word association
Cheeseburger day fellas, brats Friday. BYOB, WROD domination! Get ur vert!

Nice!
They just announced the penalties for no showing a parking reservation:
1st no show: warning email
2nd no show: lose your next reservation
3rd no show: lose all of your reservations
You can cancel (and not get counted as a no show) up to an hour before your reservation time.
Seems relevant.

Forget reddit, its a pain in the ass to navigate.
I use The Ski Reports for my ski info
Theskireports
Counted 38 snow guns active today hammering corona. Was impressed they could run that many off the main line
Also watch a young lady double eject into the trees for a broken arm. that was tough to see, patrol was on it pretty quick though.

Update: Corona lift still open. Still no runs open other than Around the Horn. Guns a-plenty on Corona.
Anybody got any info on when the nordic center will open? How close is the base to working for them?
Asking for a friend. Seriously. I don't nordic anymore.
Not good, not enough natural really to get a base going, still can see some tall grass on the trails poking through when looked last Wed. Maybe after next couple storms
All I saw was the announcement that nordic was delayed. Outside of blown snow, there really isn't much out there. I guess in the trees and machine packed some of it has stuck around, but unless they have guns over there, I imagine a good sized storm is needed. I mean, the Eldo snow report says they have received 11" season to date. Hard to set a track in that.
Went up this AM. Guns are pounding now on the lookers right side of Corona. The left half is actually pretty well covered top to bottom. Guessing they open it this weekend.
And from a distance, west ridge trees and run has a surprising amount of coverage - maybe its just 4" over rocks, but again was way better than other neglected runs. Prob picking up lots of blow over snow from Corona
Somewhat related, tooled around Caribou area yesterday mostly to dig around and do a little beacon practice. Plenty of coverage to skin a good ways up, but prob took longer picking our way down through shark infested waters. Picked up some new scratches, but fortunately nothing major
fun laps today, no fucking traffic. fucked up my parking res since im blind but all good and got in. thick cut bacon so was produced so a bacon cheeseburger day randy!
all guns on wolf tongue, should open soon. trees are no go
prob be up sun
I'll be skiing 12-4 on Sunday, hit me up if you're there
I was up this afternoon lapping corona at high speeds! Beauty of a day...sun snow is always a trip. Good times. I’ll be up tomorrow as well. In general the mountain is pretty firm. Needs a big storm or two to fill in. Muleshoe not even close.
Wind Hold for the Win!!!
That wind was righteous!
Hope tomorrow isn't as bad. But if it is, the racer kids will just lap Chute, and the rest of us will be screwed.
I think we should plan another Eldora mini; with reservation's required we should plan far in advance. Thoughts?
Make sure and schedule the wind 🤣

Eh, a bad wind day just means we grill more brats.
