Not sure if we will ever see the hendos in VT/NY but I do know the Unamed river was nice yesterday.

Thought I'd say somethin' about the first & second weeks in May within a mile of the NYS/VT line(Battenkill), but realized...it was back in the early and late 90s:ufo: L8's been around the area in this century.....:biggrin:

What reel you throwing? I have been using an Orvis Hydros for the last 5 years and it is starting to get twitchy when something takes it for a long screaming run, I haven't gotten much love from Orvis since it is discontinued in the 11/12. Thinking of switching it upQuote:

Right on. I'm biased because I designed and developed the reel (to be honest and all) they are smooth, strong and have proven to be durable

I have been running a scientific anglers Spey lite 180 grain scandi head with a 80 grain 7 1/2' intermediate poly leader for swinging wets and small streamers. For bigger streamers (still really small compared to today's standards) and deeper runs I have a prototype 17' 230 grain skagit head with a 80 grain 8' sink tip.
You should try one of those SA skagit lite heads in 210-230 grain on your 3wt ESN. As for how they call it a 3wt I can't comment because I have not fished that rod.
