Stio gear is on par with the other big guys as far as quality in my experience. Prices are pretty steep on the retail side, and frankly, on the pro side as well. As far as comparing it to Cloudveil, the better stuff from early in CV's lifecycle would be akin to today's Stio. "New" CV stuff (post Spyder, post bankruptcy) was absolute rubbish.
I'm about 50/50 as far as making a choice between Stio and Patagonia. It really comes down to features and colors. That said, Patagonia's warranty is unbeatable.
