And Congrats Mr Gosey, from friends from years past, good luck. My big brother just celebrated 28th anniversary (with cancer and kids drug problems, almost death, bankruptcy you name it) and I was out in 9.5 yrs and happy as I have ever been. You never know.
Bits of advice:
If you are going to have kids, figure out how she was raised. That is most likely, not always, how it is going to go.
If she says " its ok, go skiing" don't believe her at face value. Take her skiing with you and if she really doesn't want to ski, well....
Youre a doctor, that means limited personal time and long hours (can you fix that by the way), either work on the time together, or work on an agreement that you are good spending time apart. I have known a few doctors, surgeons including my last favorite climbing partner, and they have all had problems with their spouses and not having enough time to emotionally connect. Except Karen and my friend. They moved to New Zealand and are having the time of their lives. I recommend that. Doctors are needed in New Zealand. I went for three months and it is the most amazing place. Look into it Max.
