Seeing how well these forums have worked for AKPM's love life :rolleyes: , I figured I might as well ask the collective for some advice on my current female headache.
A few weeks ago, I went out with this girl and had a great time- one of the better first dates I have ever had. However, plans for the second date have never quite succeeded. We were supposed to go skiing a few weeks ago- I figured that if I was injured I wouldn't be able to out rip her, and if she out ripped me, I'd have a good excuse. Well, we got rained out. Since then, she has started the surgical portion of her medical studies, so she basically is either at the hospital or sleeping. Making things tougher, I work weekends. Basically it's been a month of phone tag and text messages. I never seem to be able to get ahold of her, and whenever she calls me back, my phone's off or something.
Every time I think she's not interested, she'll surprise me and leave me a message. The other day she left a long message describing in detail all the turtles she saw while hiking around the nature preserve in South Philly (One of the reason we hit it off- we both like turtles), and how whenever we both have some time off we should go hiking there together.
Usually I'd take this kind of communication lapses as a sign of disinterest, but the fact that she's going through a surgical rotation changes things. I can't tell if she's not interested, or simply doesn't have any time.
God, I feel like AKPM. I even stopped drinking soda because I'm gaining weight.
