For the last week the news has been mostly about when temperatures will finally break 40°C. Not quite there yet. I think it's time to go to south america. Who's in?

Maybe I am too old and too anxious, already. You did recognize what an Austrian finance minister said some months ago? I think her description is perfect for you (no pun intendend).

As for the title of your thread: about 38 degree Celsius here in Vienna ... and it has been that hot for days now ....

Yes, for the first time we got +40 degrees in Austria. In three different locations! This is of particular significance since temperature measurements have a long tradition in Austria (in some locations back to the 18th century). What makes us suffer even more is the fact that there is no cooling during the night.

Not now, it's too damn hot.

It is WAY too damn hot (I'm more used to Scottish summer temps), but the kayaking's been pretty good recently to make up for it. Normally I still wear a drysuit boating here, last week it was warm enough for just boardshorts and bouyancy aid though. Can't complain too much really.

Only, what, two months until skiing comes back 'round again..?
