decisions decisions

I have a choice, I can date a girl who downhill skis, I rarely see (outside of hopefully dates) because she goes to a different school, who I don't know very well yet (all we've ever talked about is skiing), or I can date a girl who doesn't downhill ski but xc skis I see all the time and is way cool beyond skiing...

Consider asking her if she'd participate in more photo shoots. Consider replacing your avatar with a picture of her -- it's preferable. Consider replacing Nicholai with her in your fantasies, odes, and artwork.

Can you keep up with her on skis (when you're not in the back seat)? Do your friends know her friends? If you can't keep up don't bother. If your friends know each other you'll be the talk of the town and won't have to worry about striking out anymore.

i'd say you should go with the one that doesn't go to your school, that way when you blow it by singing one of your sappy songs to her you won't have to see her everyday and get shit from all the other kids that know about it. but seriously man, good luck. i'd actually be proud of you if you made this work.

I can't remember the last time I saw a pic from AKPM when someone was on skis AND moving. Many close up portraits, backs of friends looking at stuff, mountains in the distance and ugly people, but no actual skiing. Ever. I thought you got a pass somewhere to be an on hill photographer. Doesnt that mean you have to take pictures of people who are not your friends? People who ski and stuff like that?

I will now be taking bets on AKPM actually ever hitting that:
Knowing what we know about AKPM I'll set the opening line at 10-1. Any takers?

O/U on any action (with a real girl) by this spring could open at 1/2, but I might have to close that down if action is too heavy towards the under

actully I took the picture, and yea my friends know her friends and I'm defnately a better skier then her...

Heres my plan: She hasn't seen that picture yet, and I'm in photo, I make a good black and white print. Next I figure out something smooth and poetic to write on the back then give it to her the next time I see her (2 days before valintines day) I now stand open to opinons on what I should write (note that only maggettes opinions will be considered)

Edit: Oh and that picture has more veiws then any of my photos on biglines (go figure)

Look, dumbass. Writing something sappy and romantic before you even know her very well will just pin you as a freakish stalker type.

Hook up with her, THEN do all the sappy romantic stuff. It's like the post THEN smoke crack order - if you screw it up, everything goes wrong.

I'm with seldon and sven...Just give her a nice copy of the photo, this is assuming that she knows you took it, and afterwords say "hey I was thinking we should hang out together sometime."

She'll either be like "yeah cool" and if she is like this have a day to hang set aside for her. Say "Cool how bout friday/sat?" And have something planned but don't bring her into the I am AKPM I fish and I ski world quite yet, leave that kind of mysterious. Intrigue is what its all about. The more you can keep her guessing the better and when you're ready to let her into AKPM world do it.

Good god. When was the last time someone gave any of you a non-skiing photo of yourself and you were actually stoked about it. If someone gave me a pic of myself smiling, I'd be pretty creeped out.

Actually, I'd assume given the fact that his lens must have been almost up her nose when he took that photo that she knows he took it.

Giving her a nice print of it with something like "Hey, this photo came out pretty well. Here's a copy for you..." wouldn't be particularly freakish.

However, do not get all sappy or romantic about it. Just treat it for what it is. A fairly good picture of someone that you're giving to the subject.

I won't give advice on asking for a date, because I didn't end up with a girlfriend until I ran into some that found my ineptitude amusing enough to give me a shot....
