It would be retarted not to bet on Mahan having a killer week. Wouldn't be surprised with a top-10 finish or even an outright win.
Might be a trendy pick but with Tiger's win a couple weeks ago, he might just be able to get confident enough with his swing to make a run at another jacket.
Darkhorse could be Bubba Watson if he hits it straight. Dufner has been hitting the ball well lately and might shoot low.
It's gonna be a great tournament this year. Still think they should gave Els the exemption weeks ago.
Keegan or Rory. Ya Big Easy should be there fore sure.
i like keegan's fight. he's not afraid. he and tiger in the final pair would be interesting. rory seems a little more mental, for lack of a better word -- which isn't always a good thing in the heat of battle.
honestly, i'd love to see tiger stomp the shit out of everybody.
Love Rory,
That being said I'll throw a Bubba and an oddball Westwood in there for good measure.
Greatest golf weekend of the year!
It always great to see someone nobody expects to win like Sergio Garcia..... maybe, perhaps... fat chance ?
No one mention Phil yet?
Justin Rose has a great record there and is playing really well right now as well.
Tiger ALWAYS plays well even when he sucks so he'll be in contention. I think Rory has a good week. I hope Cink plays well.
kyle stanley from washington ftw
Heard interviews from both Tiger and Phil today. They say the course is soft from rain and pretty easy (comparatively). They are expecting low scores and phil said you would not need a lot of experience with the greens and an aggressive guy, even a newbie, could post low scores
Besides Woods, Phil, Rory, KJ Choi plays that course well as does Snedeker.
Rooting for Keegan. He played on my high school team, so now I can say I'm a state champion when I'm 10 over after 9 holes.
I am in for the Tiger.
How sweet would it be to see Freddie or Tom Watson pull one more off?
Freddie has the length, but can't putt. He will play great as usual, up even to the final round.
Tom does not have the length required at Augusta to compete, they fucked up the course in places. Even short knocker (former winner) Zach Johnson is longer than Tom Watson.
If Rory and Tiger get to do battle, it will be one for the ages.
Come on FIGJAM, get your shit together pods.
careful, this is one area dasC might be wise...;)
Phil?
luke donald or KJ choi
Kaymer in the practice round:
I love the Masters.
A good buddy's wife once made out with Donald at a college party, I never get tired of busting his balls for that, and "Hey, it's Masters champion Luke Donald! Didn't your wife hook up with that guy?" has a great ring to it. So, yeah, picking Donald, although I would love to see Woods win (in no small part because I'm tired of the Tiger Comeback narrative).
Since we are sharing stories, my buddy smoked a J with Zach Johnson and Jonathan Bryd. Thought it an odd group, but whatever.
If Tiger wins, 4matic is gonna need more then one bottle of Jergens.

Massage oil is much better.
Disappointing to read but we don't know both sides.

Just watched the Chairman's press conference and really? More questions about women being granted membership? Get over it, it's a private club. They can make membership available to three toed sloths only if they cared to.
What a joke at trying to manufacture a non-story every single year.
If Martha Burk would just STFU, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't invite the IBM CEO. But they are damn sure not going to let it appear they are caving into the angry lesbian...
yeah, thank god tiger was too good to keep out.
Tiger wins. Rory top 5. Phil stinks the joint up, barely makes the cut and finshes respectable thanks to a nice moving day run. Ben Crenshaw is in the top 5 after the first round. Predominantly guys that go out early tomorrow have a sizable advantage over the guys that start late.
LOTS of red numbers tomorrow with this thing being so soft....at least that's my guess.
This. He tied for 6th in 2009, and 4th in 2010 and 2011 while his game and life were in shambles. His "terrible" is better than 95% of the field's "excellent." That being said, I could see a short knocker taking it as the place is going to be a swamp (like 2007 with Zach Johnson) all week.
Angel Cabrera
As far as the old guys go I'll be rooting for the Walrus.
It is a private club that seems to think it is *entitled* to sponsorship dollars from entities who have no obligation whatsoever to support Augusta. Including entities whose market circumstances and legal obligations probably mean they should have no business dealings with Augusta. And whose employee and shareholder rosters include many, many women. I hope shareholders and citizens start filing shareholder measures and suing the crap out of said corporate entities. Heck, I'd throw money in the kitty to support such efforts.
For my .02 Augusta is a bunch of self-important misogynistic asshats. Given the opportunity, I'd certainly cast my vote for any company I'm a shareholder in to boycott those turkeys. I'm sort of surprised anyone patronizes them in any way whatsoever. And if the players of the PGA had any decency whatsoever, they'd lay down the law and refuse to play there. But clearly they are a bunch of spineless wimps.
Your first sentence is absolutely false. Why should we entertain the rest of your rant? I will entertain you, pay attention, you might learn something.
You sir/madam, do not, obviously, play golf. Alister MacKenzie and Bobby Jones designed Augusta National, one of the finest golf courses in the world, if not the finest.
Men, and women, play there. Men like to play in groups of 1, 2, 3, or 4 (sometimes 5). Men like to play golf with other men. When women are present, golf is just a small bit different for men. Not a huge thing, and men play golf with women often, but think of it like Tennis; mixed doubles have a very different vibe than doubles.
Betting/gambling and drinking are a big part of men playing with men. If you had any fucking clue, you would know Men often do not like to do those things in front of women.
Augusta's roots are of a mens club, where the men would go and play, while families would play elsewhere.
No one would ever turn down a chance to play at Augusta, well, no one who actually plays golf.
Someday Augusta will change, but for the next 20 years, no, they are just less "progressive", than you and move a bit slower. Relax a little, money and sponsorship dollars are not that important. They could care less FYI, about money. They are already more than rich.
