Would be nice to have a separate tech talk forum for snowboards. Too many damn two-plankers on here asking stupid shit to keep anything about boards on the page. Or maybe just a whole separate snowboard forum. Anyway....

I like the idea of tech talk having two sub forums. Ski and snowboard. Good idea IMO.
i agree it would be nice
Www.snowboardingforum.com
Really though how many threads about stance and proper vape techniques can you post?
That forum blows chunks
All the snowboard forums blow chunks. Either way too gay tray or way too epic. We need our own home right here at tgr. Me, doughboy, spook and the SOB have important shit to geek out on.
Alaskan Rover is a mono planker too. Don't forget him.
We could call the new forum, "Don't do it in the park!", and put it right between the Padded Room and Ask TGR But Don't Expect a Response. Would alleviate my carpel tunnel flare ups due to unnecessary scrolling.
Thanks for the feedback guys. We are in the midst of trying to re-organize the forums and create new more intuitive experience for all the mags.
Yep, it would be really nice to have a snowboard gear swap and tech talk forum, 1 forum for both would be just fine.
I've ran into some great deals and advice from other riders that lurk here, but I think they're hesitant to post in what is almost exclusively a ski firum.
If the search function worked it wouldn't much matter right?
yesyesyes, another thing, how bout a wardrobe forum to keep intouch with each others steeez.
what does a mang wear chasing the snow?
just asking
bobby
I fully agree. I always look through tech talk but every subject is ski related.
Right now there aren't too many threads in Ski/snowboard about snowboarding at all....so it's pretty much already a ski fourm.
i think it would actually be cool to have a place to post snowboard specific posts...I think it would be small, enough though, that it wouldn't need a separate snowboard tech talk/gear swap. Sorta like how the kayaking or biking forum is set up...TRs, tech talk and gear swap all in one forum would be simplest. Really EPIC TRs could always be cross-posted into the ski forum for more eyeballs. ;)
i ski AT as well, so when I want ski-related i'd go to ski...when I want snowboard-related, I'd go to "Snowboard".
Have a poll about it, maybe....or just go ahead and do it. Even the skiers might enjoy it from time to time.
Cyber-cop: Where is this EPIC snowboard forum you were talkin' about?????

How much you want to bet AK Rover SUCKS at snowboarding and is the old guy with the gaper gap trying to fit in saying "dude" and shit to young guns?
I side slip better than all of you fuckers!!!
sideslipoff!!
Let's move all the fucking conditions threads out of Ski and Snowboard forum first before we need to fuck with a snowboard tech talk. Seriously. And I will have a ski off with any brainless hamster who thinks otherwise.
Sorry, Advres...hate to burst your malformed opinion of me, but if I sucked at snowboarding I would have given it up years ago....as sucking at something isn't much fun...unless, like you, one actually enjoys 'sucking'. Do you do your vid editing up on the 'third floor', Advres? I'm betting you do.

This is true.
I would go as far as to say that the vast majority of snowboarders suck at it. The one thing we all have in common is that we love doing it. I took a group of kids that I'm teaching through a pow field for their first time the other day. It was only their third time snowboarding, but I don't think any of them had ever been as stoked as they were riding pow their first time. Those smiles were priceless.
I would want to use it to have a place to bitch about bad binding mounts and how often my steezy long tee gets swiped into my ass when I use the bathroom.
There is nothing new in snowboarding since 1995. Personally I don't really care about a new forum split. Most snowboarders are irritating and disingenuous.
based on volume I bet you think you are a good writer too.
The only thing new in skiing since 95 is that you now strap 2 little snowboards on your feet to try to surf the pow like we do, and it still doesn't work.
What a wacked out series of statements. Well, the first statement is sorta true, actually....as there haven't really been monumental advances in snowboard/binding tech since 1995...unless you consider the blip on the radar of the Specialized bike-derived
K2 Clicker (too bad that didn't work out), and MAYBE LibTech's magna-traction or whatever in hell they're calling it.
The second is your own preference.
That leaves the third as being wacked out. Yes....SOME riders are extremely irritating, but so are MANY skiers in that same annoying 15 - 19 year age group. That's just testosterone-derived.
But "disingenuous"??? Where do you get THAT nonsense from?
Seems that since there remain obvious differences between snowboarding and skiing...a separate snowboarding forum would be well deserved and pretty cool.
Tech talk, gear-swap, chest-pounding, you name it. Maybe we'd even allow hardbooters in there!!! (unlike their OWN taliban-based website...;) )
Let's do it !

AK Rover smells like Tuna.
Hope you chopped him up and threw him over. I wouldn't want that on my deck.
