P-tex, you should give the ticket to me, I got skunked for 8 days out in ootah. And I could have been skiing a foot of fresh at Jay today with friends, but I couldn't make that trip either. I'm in serious need of some pow-pow. :biggrin:

PNW crew starting to materialize.
Subaru guidance now locked firmly on LCC (hmm, although SW flow could push to the Basin or Canyons).

RB- eagerly awaiting details to finalize plans to either UT. We are no longer waiting for Ullr, we plan to track him/her down :FIREdevil Pulling the trigger..

Zeedash, BC-Flow, Girlski (Girlski's sister???), and I hopefully rolling into town late Thursday. Skiing Friday, Saturday, Sunday at AltaBird. With an alternate day at the Basin or touring off the Can or LCC/BCC.

Oh yeah, and the NW's finest beer in tote. Will trade full strength beer for massive storm dumpage.
Any one got beta on the 'bird in terms of avie openings this year? are they still holding Baldy on the 'day after the storm' usual protocol?

They ususally wait at least a day, but I think it really depends on the storm, wind, etc.

Thanks Frizzo. Guess they are still on the same program as when I lived there, but I remember X praising the patrol for opening stuff much earlier this year.

And yeah, THE PNW will be representing at the 'Bird. Can't wait!

No problem. I've never been dissapointed with their opening schedule on pow days, but I've only been out here a couple seasons and don't tread to Baldy unless it's sunny.

Ok, PNW people, listen up...

Here's the deal; YOU HAVE THE PERFECT ITINERARY SET UP NOW, DON'T CHANGE A THING; we have a significant storm coming in from the SW for Tuesday night and Wednesday - this is NOT the one you want to chase. It's going to be relatively wet snow, and we're going to be in for another round of that ugly, crappy strong SW wind that really screwed things up last time.

There is another storm on Thursday, that one will be slightly colder....

The storm you want will be here on Friday, with snow continuing on Saturday and Sunday. By then we will have cold air, light winds, and things should be looking great.

I would expect some delayed canyon openings, and touring might be out of the question for a few days, so AltaBirds a great bet...see ya'll this weekend.

We tired that one already. Full strength beer brought nothing but high pressure and broken thumbs. I think Ullr isn't much of a beer drinker. :confused: :biggrin:

Open up the Buffet Line, our super starved crew is ready to chow down like a fat kid likes cupcakes (or however that 50 Cent lyric goes)
