...COLD AND UNSETTLED WEATHER FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND...
A LARGE UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE AREA IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER
THE WESTERN STATES FOR THE LONG THANKSGIVING WEEKEND. THIS IS
EXPECTED TO SPREAD VALLEY RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW INTO NORTHERN
UTAH STARTING LATE IN THE AFTERNOON OF THANKSGIVING DAY.
COLDER AIR WILL FILTER INTO THE AREA FRIDAY AND THE RAIN AND SNOW
WILL SPREAD SOUTHWARD. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN VERY UNSETTLED
THROUGH THE WEEKEND WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR A WELL ORGANIZED STORM
LATE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY.
THIS PERIOD OF UNSETTLED AND COLD WEATHER IS EXPECTED TO BRING
SIGNIFICANT SNOW TO SOME VALLEY LOCATIONS AND HEAVY SNOWFALL TO
MOST OF THE MOUNTAINS. IT IS TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE THE SPECIFIC
AREAS THAT WILL BE MOST IMPACTED BY THIS STORMY PATTERN...ESPECIALLY
FOR THE LATE WEEKEND SYSTEM
HOWEVER...IT IS VERY LIKELY THAT AT LEAST PORTIONS OF THE INTERIOR
WEST WILL RECEIVE HEAVY SNOW...CREATING HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS
FOR TRAVEL OVER THE WEEKEND.
ANYONE PLANNING EXTENSIVE DRIVING OVER THE EXTENDED HOLIDAY
WEEKEND OR WHO WOULD BE OTHERWISE AFFECTED BY WINTERY WEATHER
SHOULD STAY WELL INFORMED ON THE EVOLUTION OF THIS STORM. LISTEN
TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...LOCAL BROADCAST STATIONS...OR VISIT
WEATHER.GOV ON THE INTERNET TO CHECK ON THE LATEST WEATHER
CONDITIONS AND FORECASTS.
I really, really, really hope you're right
I heart Z and Stumpy
Packing the car just in case... I'm in need of a fix.

I'm so glad I picked the right weekend.

I'm going to see if I can't get Rot mad at me; we're doing Thanksgiving at the Palace in Draper with a few of the family-less maggots in town and then some form of jocularity after. I would think it would be safe to say that the more maggots, the better. Think hot tub, MANY beverages, safety, snow for Friday, dog tricks, fire trucks, possible nude twister with B-list celebrities.
Z / Stump....Thank you. :p
Let me clarify; it's going to be like last year, minus any chance of bluebird conditions. :rolleyes2
We are going to be in a very strong west-to-east zonal flow, which brings in many storms in a rapid succession.
Heavy snow is now likely on Thursday night and Saturday night; with cloudy skies all weekend, and not a real break until mid-day tuesday.
The standard disclaimer applies; remember, it's a forecast...not a promise!

Red Baron,
Can you give us a update Wednesday as more info come across your desk.
If it is going to be like last year I will start packing my truck tonight.
Thanks for the good vibes.

We all owe you one. PM me when you get back and I'll get you introduce to the pack of Tards I'm usually cavorting with (and get your # programmed in so we don't keep missing you). And don't feel too bad, take a nice hike in NH and enjoy the woods, I still miss the place when it's not snowing here. Have a great T-day.Quote:

You hear that knee, the vacation is over. I hope you're ready to go back to work.
A warm front will bring more clouds and some snow starting Wednesday. This will be followed by a stronger system and jet stream that approaches Thursday afternoon and moves thru Friday. This could bring significant snow. A very cold and rather strong upper trough will dig into southern Utah for the holiday weekend and produce more snow...especially Saturday.
I say gawwwwwwwd Damn!
I want some pow, bad, really bad.

I'm seriously considering it. I have family obligations on Thursday (some sort of holiday?) so I would have to leave Thursday night/Friday.Quote:
