Divegirl got the ball rolling, and now I'll do what I do.
Date is called, rollcall will start. I'll get some lift tickets (hopefully) and coupons, and start the conversation about where to drink and when.

Damn, I lose on the date again. Oh well, maybe next year...
Dude you gotta fix your time off. Late May Early June is REALLY FUN At and around Mammoth.
Its not the omg best skiing I get in every year, but the most fun and relaxing ski days of the year for me. Mammoth Maggots are great hosts. And I like the Steep spring Sierra Corn. Get your Ass out here
Thankyou Y.C. and Divegirl for getting the ball rolling.
Myself and PattyE are in.
Like the late date this year:) More sun, more fun.
It is on the calendar. I'm going to do my best to make it. May might be a bit early for camping at Fort FKNA. Where to stay???
Anyone have a couple of Mammoth tickets they'd like to trade for a pair of Alpine Meadows tickets good through the end of this season (which is going to be mid-may)? I'll even throw in a free place to stay for a couple nights whether or not you can offer the same in exchange.
drats, running a 50k in Ohlone Wilderness on the 23rd. partying with maggots != tapering :( we r officially out :(
I'm in. Nothing like a Mammy weekend to get over the surf trip / binge drinking trip to Australia earlier that month.
Obviously DG and I are in.
So stoked for this. Probably resort on Saturday and Tioga (or Virginia Lks if Tioga isn't open up top) on Sunday.
Sushi Shirt Lives!
At last: Not Mother's Day!
Gonna try to make it happen. Sinecure, Lego, and DG... we should talk carpool, no?
Might show up for shits and grins. Some people have said it's fun...
I'm in.
Inbounds one day and Tioga the next sounds awesome.
I just need to get in shape fast after I get this cast off. :)
In. In. In.
i was really looking forward to it this year, but now i hear there's rules about when and where i can drink. what a load of crap!!!!:nonono2::nonono2:
;)
all the same, no way in hell i'm gonna miss it again. might have to dash home and grab the girls and bring them back for sunday, but i think they'd love it.
In, up for some BC 2 days and some inbounds, should have some mvp buddy passes(55$) for those who need.
There should be plenty of MVP "Bring a Friend" discounts available. Not as simple as years past, but not too bad, just have to buy tickets a day in advance. I should have plenty (an can use my wife's pass as well.) We just need to coordinate things a few days in advance.
I think Mrs. C. and I are in. If snow conditions permit, we'll be camping.
If the starts align as they're supposed to, I am in.
The advantage to later in may is the camping should be good.
We have lots of options besides the "Fort", but Fort FKNA is just so convenient being staggering distance to the village (a long stagger.)
I like the date (it's not a conflict my 5/2 Eugene Oregon marathon). It should be good times.
I'm in. It has been awhile since I have been to a mini!! Especially if Supu is coming.
We'll be there.
sounds like fun
Is Squaw Valley still likely to be open that weekend? Anybody know?
^ If the last few years are any indication of a trend, then no. Even with a decent snowpack, Tahoe resort closings have been pushed back into April the last few years. Mammy is the one that stays open. If Squaw has good ticket sales toward the end of season they *might* go to weekend only operation but that's unlikely so late into May.
Who needs Squaw when you can bring skins and hit the Dana Plateau though? Eastern Sierra in the spring alone is worth the drive from Seatown. Hiking and fishing are off the charts too if you need additional motivation.
Squaw MAY be open that weekend. Alpine is scheduled to shut down the weekend before that. Likely with weekend only operations in the last couple/few weeks leading up to closing. At least that's what I heard from the Director of Snowsports. It seems that Squaw usually stays open a day or two longer than Alpine, maybe just so they can say they were open longer??
Yiggy-yes-yallin' I'm in.
Hey Yogachik and company...I would like to try to do this one. I would also like to bring my kid (15 now!) who loves skiing w/ maggots.
I will talk w/ him about how this fits in w/ his crazy teenage life. I have no doubt he will want to drop everything and use up some of mom's flyer miles. I also still have those vouchers from when I screwed up my knee a few seasons ago there. This time I'll ski it right.
:)
Sprite
(not "in" yet...but hoping to be)
I'll give you guys happy hour prices on drinks all night. You never know, you may even get to be a guest bartender.
I'm in, plus 1.
I might have to try for this. Mrs. Shred and I have been talking about visiting some folks in CA around that time.
I'm in......"there will be bacon"
MoGB bringing pork? I'm in. Love the later date. More sun.
FKNA 2.1,2.2 both decent spots to camp. I really liked 2.2. Off the road just a bit.
Could be a good year for Tioga.
Cinders & me hope we'll be able to come again this year.
It all depends on the kindness of the Maggots who are driving down :)
We won't be camping, so if Y'all know of good accomodation dealio's, please pass it along.
And we'll be staying inbounds, so hopefully can take someone up on their buddy-ticks.
On another note, I first looked in the Summits forum for this thread
