Maybe try here.
"For a limited time only, K2 will re-release the prolific poster "Upon this Rock I Build My Church" of Doug Coombs. The cost of the poster will be $20 and all proceeds will be donated to dougcoombsmemorialfund.com to help support Emily Coombs and their young son David. Send an email with "Upon this Rock Poster" in the subject line to info@k2skis.com with your name, email address and mailing address and K2 will contact you directly when the poster becomes available."

To be sure, this is the one you are looking for right?

oh man, i have this one still in the tube waiting to be framed, so awesome. Id never part with it though. Good luck finding one
Thanks,
That reprinting by K2 was years ago when he died in France.
I was lucky, good friend of Doug's helped find one for me and had it shipped yesterday! My luck has returned! :)

*bump*
Same problem 6 years later. Anyone have a line on one? Or willing to make a high-res scan?
I'm interested in this too. Had a copy on my wall in grad school, but somehow it got lost over the years.
bump again. I'll send you a sixer of good beer if you'll make a high-res scan for me.
would you just scan that at staples or something? I have this poster
Take a pic with a 15+mp camera on tripod / post processing will take care of rest and you will have a lot better pic file than any scan - assuming this poster is 2' by 3' ish.
Not sure of the murky legalities of such a maneuver - it will take subtlety for sure so maybe dd should start a thread on it & fascism's effect on digital images.
If they are unobtainable elsewhere then I think Doug would be ok with us making copies :)
speaking of doug coombs his wife started a cool foundation in his name here in JH. They support skiing for low income kids- basically the hispanic kids in town
http://www.dougcoombsfoundation.com/
yes it's obviously not legal stop being such a goody 2 shoez
You could also look up his wife on FB and see if she has any left
I just sent emily coombs a msg to see if she had any just in case she has a stack of em here in her garage or something random
Even better. Thanks!
Phooey- here's what EC said-
I sure wish there was a way to get more of those posters made- i have mentioned it to K2 who did not think it was a possibility, but i will keep trying
Add in another person who'd like to have one if they ever get made, especially if the proceeds go to the foundation and not to K2.
+1 and funds to the foundation if it happens.
+1. As stated above, I had one and lost it. Really want another.
I've been looking for this poster for a while now. Would love to get it as well. We should email K2 and tell them to release it again.
I have a friend who thinks he may have a few. Maybe Emily gets them, and folks bid on them and the money goes to her foundation.
that's a great idea plugboots
that would be super cool of your friend
I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this. My friend is 99% sure he has some posters rolled up in his attic. He said:
... I have posters for donations only. We are organisiting a memorila here 3rd of April 2016 for Doug and Chad... (Here being La Grave.)
You could set it up as an auction thread here where people post up their bids and the top 3 or however many posters are being given away will win. Those 3 will send money to the foundation. Just a thought to do it and to keep it in the community. Good to see this happen.
Did this ever happen? I'd be in for one of these as well
Bump.
Still looking for a scan or the actual poster.
Thanks!
Hi! Just found the thread, and thought I’d add my name to all others looking for the Upon this rock I build my church-poster. If anyone has managed to find some posters or could point out a direction it would be immensely appreciated. Has been looking for it since 2006 and donated to the foundation that tragically had to be set up in the late spring the same year, but think they ran out of posters almost immediately and maybe shipping to Sweden wasn’t first priority. Feel hesitant to contact Emily Coombs personally but have over the years reached out to K2 US and Europe, the photographer (Larry Prosor) as well as Coombs Outdoors without any luck so far.Have been hoping to frame this iconic memory of Doug Coombs and his impact on the industry and to symbolize brief encounters with him in La Grave. Would happily any match any donations or so made to Coombs Outdoors for help finding a copy (in addition to paying for the poster of course).Have a nice summer everyone!Petter
Anyone in Truckee area know Larry Prosser? He was the photographer for the Coombs poster so it might be worthwhile to reach out the him to see about getting reprints. Old Goat, TahoeJ etc? K2 people were unresponsive.
Maybe you could book a photo shoot with Larry and then we can ambush him with the real reason of getting more of those posters.
jk we could just contact him.
but it just sounds more like an old school tgr caper the other way
A friend of a friend might be holding onto a stock of these posters. When a local thrift store went out of business recently, word spread that a box of posters of Doug were found in the catacoombs(storage unit)...
I am trying to secure them but it's a severely roundabout pursuit. If it works out, I'll try and get some for the mags.
Interested if something happens
Is this the icefall poster for K2 Doug did?
I would love one.
I’m not a poster guy. But that one is inspiring.
I would like one.
Who’s holding up a reprint? K2? Fuck them.
Baby bear mentioned the photographer.
I’m sure k2 or someone else owns that image. They clearly seem to own the the final print with upon this rock lingo.
But there has to be a photo right before or right after that the photographer still owns. That could be reprinted for the benefit of the Coombs foundation.
I would also like one if the is a stash.
Wasn't the poster image a screen shot still from the "ski off" scene in Aspen Extreme?
Schmidt and Coombs did ski stunts in said movie IIRC
