I'll most likely be there.
I'll be the guy in the grateful dead t-shirt and the "fuck you" hat.
(Carlin).
Search function Jong.... :D
post from the very recent past
We'll see. I might decide to make the drive. But that's still up in the air.
Perfect then. So I'll look for a grumpy hippy and someone resembling Spicoli. I think you all know how to find me. Just look for the guy with Caterpillars on his forehead.Quote:

I'm considering it, too. I'll talk to you this evening, Nater!

Yeah, no one got my George Carlin joke, which is just as well cause it was fucking lame anyway.
How about the Balboa at 8:00-ish? Does "Change for a nickel" still get the job done?
How about earlier? 8:00 is cutting it close (assuming that I go and assuming that I can make it up there by 8:00) - That doesn't seem nearly enough time for and alcoholic like me to get toasted and then have the designated driver get me to the theater. Anyone else second this?
Also, for us flatlander gaper tourons, where's this "Balboa?" I know of the "Balboa" out by Newport Beach in Socal, but I doubt that you want to drive that far just to see dead rats and used baby diapers floating in the harbor.
Uber, its the Balboa Cafe in the Village @ Squaw: can't miss it, right across from the tix windows and tram area....we will be there around 7:30'ish I think....
7 ish then? Plenty of time for Tommy and co to get us all loaded. A tip - they won't tell you they have PBR on tap, but they do, for $2.00. It's the little black handle on the left side of the beer stem....Also, for whoever said it, you can walk from Balboa to OVI (theatre) in about 4 minutes across the parking lot.
Ok, sounds good. I'll be changing nickels at the Balboa. Look for the mini fro and giant eyebrows. So if I wanna get there at 8, that means I need to trick myself into thinking I should be there at 7. You know, to adjust for my usual lateness.
Edit: make that 6. Hell, I should just tell myself I'm leaving in the morning. :D
I'll be there. I might even wear my Line sweatshirt like a total gaper,
Where you from, braddah? I grew up on Lana`i and just moved to Truckee from the Big Island in June, so I'd tell you to look for a kama`aina too, but I'm as haole as the driven snow.Quote:

My Sacto wingman may be bowing out. As such, I don't know if I'll be making the drive with anyone else or not, or even if I'll go. However, I have absolutely nothing going on tonight. I'm 75% in even if I'm going solo up there. I know what Arty looks like. I look like the dude below. A whole lot like him.
If I get up there, I'll be looking to get a nickel changed.
Edit: My Sacto wingman bowed out.
I'm out....
So - all you amateur Colombos out there... take a guess who the "wingman" is/was... I hope his excuse for bowing out involves a certain female... ;)
Out. I can’t justify driving 4 hours to breathe air smoggier than what we have here
Strange. I was thinking just the opposite. It will be clearer up there than in South Lake. My eyes are starting to hurt.Quote:

Looks like I might be going to the 7 show instead of the 9 show. So I'll swing by Balboa's on the way and see if anyone is there. Too bad, I was looking forward to meeting some of you guys.
I really wish msp would rethink squaw as the premier venue. When over 50% of the people there have to stand its pretty sad. Good movie though, definitely much much better than last year imho. I couldn't stop laughing during tanners segment though I must say.
Fuck! Sorry I missed you guys at the bar. Running late as usual. I should be taken out and shot. I made the flick in time though. I have to say I really liked it. Abma's first line was SIIIIIICKKKK!!!! A bit too much BASE stuff. I wanna see skiing, ya know? Ingrid's seg kicked ass, got the crowd pumped too. Shane skied some great lines, same with Hugo. I was bummed Seth didn't have much luck this year. I was soooo stoked when he came on, but alas it was not to be. Still he killed it considering how bad it was.
Anyway, hopefully I'll catch you all on the slopes this year. Stoke on!!!
I made my rounds last night...Balboa's/OVI/Balboa's. I couldn't pick a maggot out of a crowd if they ran up and tackled me. We should implement some sort of hidden costume feature that will allow mags to identify other maggots in a large gathering like last night. From now on, I'll be tying an old lift ticket to my shoelaces. If you see some idiot walking around with a lift ticket on his shoe, chances are he's got change for a nickel.
BTW, I won the first drawing last night and got myself the Yearbook DVD and a killer Helly shirt. Not to shabby for a $10 door charge.
