i'm not spewing cause i think i'm the man, i'm sharing because i'm pretty damn humbled. for the second year in a row, i've been named ultimate player of the year here in the uk. although i miss the very very top end of the game by not being in the states anymore (been gone 3 years now, but still see those guys at world's, etc.), i've actually improved a ton over here and really enjoyed playing in europe in general.

Brett will claim you're a egomaniac who flaps their dick around in the air in an effort to garner attention, but I'm sure most people realize that you deserve it. Granted, it'd be hard to look a parent in the eye at a young age and tell them "I'm gonna be the best damn ultimate player in the world!", but I'm sure they understand now... just buy them a nice bong or something. Don't listen to them. Good job. It is a fun sport, and it keeps my ass in shape. Some day it might be an olympic sport, which might give it a little validity. They do drug test for worlds now, so the hippy label is fading. Can't help but flash back to PCU though, every time I think about the sport.

nah, trust me, i know ultimate isn't a very big deal, but since i've had to live in the city instead of the mountains to go where i want to go right now...i've worked hard to get better, and it's nice to see it pay off. i'd def trade playing ultimate for skiing more if i could still put my career in the direction it's going. i picked the sport up very late (after playing tennis, soccer, and bball at high levels) and have found it a great way to meet some interesting people and also keep in good shape.
most people prolly don't really know how sick you have to be to even play for a club that could possibly even get into a tournament that would qualify you for worlds. not to mention being the best player on a club that actually makes it to worlds.
seriously, you must be fully sick. i bet your hammer is really good. heh.

werd. ulty, at high levels, is serious sport. as much, of not, more sprinting/running than soccer (football), no TO's, no break until someone scores, switching from O to D on the fly, laying out, etc....its a kick-ass sport that, at least on the coasts, is considered a serious sport: just like rugby, soccer, etc.....Quote:

Hell yes, last tournament we were in- Florida Sectionals in Vero Beach. Two of our matches went over 2 hours each. 5 min. break in between, and back at it. Team of 7 with 4-5 subs.
