I am gainfully employed

Just wanted to let everyone know that I got a job. I'm managing a computer store in Frisco and it's running at about 60 hours a week. Egad. I really love it though. I'm skiing or scouting at dawn. And I have Sundays off. When the chairs start running, I'll be skiing in the mornings.

I want to say thank you to a bunch of really good friends that helped me make the transition. Most especially Summit (Aaron). Thanks to him, I have a home. He was also there when I kicked the cigarette habit. Aaron, I couldn't have done it without your support.

Also thanks to Brett, Scott, and some other really fine folks here in the county that helped me get through a difficult period. I'm so lucky to have such great friends.

Colorado and Coloraggots do not suck.

Congrats for making the move. Which computer store? Is it the computer usage place right by Claim Jumper or somewhere off the main drag?

hey thanks, sweetie. I've been here (or at PowderMag) so long that I forget sometimes that not everyone on the forum really knows me. I've been in the county for a year and a half just ski bumming. My move was from Blue River to the base of Swan Mountain, on the Keystone side. I'm bummed because I had to drop elevation. :D But Montezuma is my new backyard and I'm so excited about that. Also happy to be in close proximity to Loveland and A Basin, my personal favs for inbounds. This side of the county is mo betta, for sure.

I'm working at Rocky Mountain Computer in Frisco - in the main street mall. look and listen for me this winter on RSN and on the radio. :rolleyes: And come in to say hi... :)

Please rid us of the dog ads. Those commericals freak me out every time I see them on RSN.

The last couple of days I've been over at Loveland Pass. But it's cooked now. Let it snow.

I plan to do the dawn patrol at Berthoud at least once a week this winter.

Way to go She ra! I guess you had to do the job thing but it sounds like a good gig. Better than the table serving you were gearing up for. Real excited for you about quitting the evil burners. Way to go! Hope you start feeling a difference on those long skin tracks.

Hehe, I'm still skiing, so I guess the sun will come up today.

But no more patrol. There's simply no time for it. It was a wonderful experience and I met so many cool people doing that. And I got awesome first aid training - maybe it'll save a life someday. But I also realized that my ideas about the mountains and skiing were not quite in synch with the nationals...

I ate a Moosejaw burger last week. Really yummy. One of the perks of the job is a meal out at lunch every day. I will get fat if I'm not careful. But I've had sushi twice and I've been hiking several days this week, so hopefully I won't pork up too quick. Every time I think of carrying an extra pound of fat up the hill I start having mental spasms. :rolleyes: :D

Wow! Another lady who likes A-Basin (as you can see, I'm a bit underexposed. My girls friends all like cruiser runs!) I'll definitely look forward to taking a few runs with you sometime this season. We stay in Frisco all the time (practically every Saturday night from Feb. through April) so I'll have to drop by and introduce myself. Or maybe I'll get my act together and get all my bc gear so you can show me how Dawn Patrol is done. I'm definitely a JONG when it comes to that, :D but I've been dying to try since watching others last season

Good luck with the move and the job (I think the Swan Mt. area is so pretty and a great locale to get to many of the resorts pdq). Hope you still have time to ski as much as you want to (is that EVER possible?)

...and here's another! We just got done with our refresher this weekend. There's a little snow up there, but honestly not as much as I'd hoped. We're set to open the 22nd, though, with our white ribbon of death.

Mir, congrats on the job! Hopefully you'll still get enough time on the slopes this winter. Both of you will have to come make some turns with me at the Basin this year.

Hey, gals, I can't wait to take some runs with you! It seems that all I've met at A-Basin are guys (and very nice ones at that! ;) ) , but it'll be good to ski with females who seem to be as snow-crazed as I (I've only ever had 2 friends like that!).

No offense to the guys at all. I so love the people at A-Basin. Attitude is everything. We'll have to wear "I post on TGR" t-shirts so we'll recognize the true maggots for who they are!

Have you done the snowcat skiing at Keystone? I haven't heard much about it from anyone yet.
