I was cleaning out my place in preparation for the end-of-the-summer move and I came across a bunch of letters...from a sappy happy time with the ex-girlfriend that I'm not especially happy with right now but would like to be friends with again someday.
I was thinking of saving them, being the sentimental SNAG that I am, but then again since I've moved on, why keep the ancient history around? This goes for all the old pictures (yes, some naked, and no, I won't post them!) too.

It seems to me that by posing this question, perhaps you are reluctant to toss said letters and photos. I don't know, it's a gut call for you to make.
We are, in part, the sum of our worldy experiences. We also take the time to reflect and this means addressing our pasts and analyzing things that went wrong and what we could have done differently, how we might have made things work. Old letters are nice in that years from now(Hell, even weeks sometimes) you can reread and see things, clues, that you were oblivious to the first time around. This can be painful, but also liberating.
If you trash this stuff, do it cause it's what you really want. Have no regrets. Use lots of lighter fluid, too.
I'm with Pinner here, trash them now. Better yet, burn them. That is not something you want a new girl finding.
I am sorely disappointed with anyone who didn't choose option 3.

edit - let me clarify, hide them well, deep in your attic to avoid conflict.

I am living with a woman who was an ex for a year & 1/2. she is on track for the title & I wish I had saved more of her corespondance while she was away in stead of tossing it in a drunken "fuck that dirty bitch" tantrum.

Burn the stuff--you don't need the physical reminders. All the memories you need are safe inside your head where nobody can get at them.

i think i know from experience that when you can throw all that shit away without thinking about it just cause it's clutter, then you're over it. but if you keep it , you run the risk of seeing it and gettin' all introspective and shit, so toss it now, you'll feel better. except the nekkid pics, keep those.
I had full on XXX pics with some nasty postitions and all that with my ex from HS. I burned em after my wife to be moved in with me in college. If my wife ever saw those, I would have a bullet in my head (and crotch) and would not be talking to you right now. Now letters and stuff is a different story.
Pics: If they are incriminating, burn em.
I have regrets of the porn pics that I burned but XXX pics and more have no place in my marriage.

thinking even farther into the future than FreakofSnow regarding embarrassment -- my dad wrote some smutty letters to my mom before they were married, and they came out at his 50th b-day or their 25th wedding anniversary or some such occassion. i heard about it later from my buddy whose parents were there, and i DIED! but i guess "youve moved on" so embarrassing exposure to yours and hers kids shouldn't be a problem.
but i must say, even before i saw "option no. 3" on the poll, my answer was save (NOT post, but save) the naked ones. what if she becomes famous someday? these may be worth something -- but not if youve already posted them here! haha. even if she doesnt, its awfully hard to throw away a naked photo! (or so I would GUESS -- never been in your shoes myself.)
but dispose of everything else in some significant (though not quite ritualistic) fashion to give yourself "closure." not that many guys seem to want "closure" anyway -- more like "keeping your options open," or the more crass term, "free refills." ;)

Funny you bring up the wedding. We were going to meet at her sister's wedding in Sept and discuss "us" after an ambiguous summer apart (coming after a sine-wave long distance spring, coming after a catastrophic winter together....enough drama but you get the point), but then a few weeks before it happened she told me not to bother and she brought her new boyfriend.
Even though there was a third option, I will never post the pics because that's just plain evil. But if you really need some nekked pics, let me point you to my sister at www.stonenudes.com. Just be sure to buy a calendar to support a starving artist!

I don't go out of my way to check her out, but I can't say I haven't seen her naked. And 11 months out of the year I'm looking at someone else! And even though I'm by no means a JONG, nobody else has posted naked pictures or even provided links to naked pictures of their sister that I can remember.
