Closer to my house.
A strong point in favour.
Sick and ashamed and happy (and will the Jackson supporters be able to top that?),
d.
already planning a trip to w/b. so if the dates dont jive i would have to be redundant to make it.
Pros - Tom will be there this winter
- could book a couple of super condos
- could book the Creekside Inn
-has terrain comparable to JH
- can get a refill on my AC&Cs
- more than enough nitelife
Cons - Can't think any, unless it rains, cause I LOVE CANADIA
Pro- boot ballet
What basom said, not coincidentally. But that's not really a strike against it in my opinion.
Yyyyyeeeaaaaaaahhhhh, Whistler!!!!!
No cons, baby, no cons.
Pro: those flying in could fly into Seattle and spend a day or two at Washington mountains such as Crystal or Baker.
That reminds me... DIMNS could show up and not feel so out of place with his poor spelling skills. ;)Quote:

I don't care whether it will be W/B or JH. They're both on my list of places to go before I die.
Pros
I'll attend if the summit's in Whistler cos I can't stomach the three flights to Jackson
Cons
If it is in Jackson I'm gonna go to the SLC Mini. Utards lock up your ski poles.
Pro's: we have more maggot constituency in the greater PacNW/South BC area than we have on J-Hole. (If my count is right) That means better locals coordination, which can be helpful in putting together this level of event. It also means more folks will drive, which make car pooling and broader transportation options more available. Also, if folks want to do car shuttles or head up to another area for a day or two, that becomes easier.
Sammmich will be there as will other maggots gone local.
Too close to my house.Quote:

The Boot Ballet, both a pro and a con.
Roo - I think you can make Jackson Hole in just two flights from London if you fly via Denver on BA.
Not that W/B isn't the better choice.
Beaver said it's gone. I heard the Boot was closing, but wasn't sure when. Does anyone know?Quote:

W/B is totally sick, huge mountains, huge vert, huge snow. Every type of terrain you can want. The village is compact and has shuttles so maggots who fly to Vancouver wouldn't have to rent a car. Drinking age is 19 instead of 21 (big plus for some maggots). Generally cheaper overall than JH, and will most likely have more reliable conditions in March than the Hole. Cat skiing operation nearby, as with a heli-ski outfit. Unlimitied backcountry options. W/B is a no brainer to me, as long as the date of the Summit are between the 9th and the 30th of March 2005.

Apparently I was given some bad info. I just called ((604) 932-3338) and yes, it is still in operation.
THANK THE LORD ALLMIGHTY!Quote:

and GM: greater chance of getting rained on and poo for visability.
True, but Jackson will most likely be sludge on all but the highest alititude pitches by March, the exposure of that place kinda sucks. At least whistler can recover faster than JH.Quote:

Wasn't it brought up about having it in Feb instead of March?Quote:

If it was I must have skipped over it, in that case, I'm still rooting for Whistler.Quote:

I concur, except I think earlier dates could work better for snow. The village is way more fun than Jackson Hole, the skiing is just as good (im sure some will argue), everything is cheaper, you dont need a car, and it has hotter chicks (BY FAR).Quote:

I'm a big vote for w/b. My kinda backyard after a year in vancouver.
Probably couldn't afford JH.
we should do a JH mini like the utah mini this year , and have the main summit in whistler.. w/b rocks and has something for everyone. maggot infestation would be awesome!
A thought from outside the box. I like it!
Pro's
I get 50% off lodging. It doesn't state that I have to just rent one place either. So we might be able to save alot of cash with my discount. I also have several condo owners on my tremblant site that owns condo's at Whistler. They might also toss in a free night or something because of the free add space they get.
I get to ski at 50% off.
I have a new website coming up there soon.
I get major discounts on catskiing and the Extremely Canadian gig.
Con's
Heh can't think of any.
pros -
- Chicks ( or at least more than jackson )
- poutine
- Toques (or is it Tuques?)
- Hockey games on the radio between Red Deer and Calgary
- High Party Atmosphere
- Peeler Bars
- Roo attendance
cons -
- Utards/poor maggots don't travel more than 1 or 2 states away to ski
- Expensive Lodging
- TGR not based in WB
- Rain
- Will preclude maggots with a Deuce on their record from attending
Either way I will be in either Jackson or WB, so just plan it and let me know in advance
Hard to say. Average snow in Feb is 70", average in March is 63" according to http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/weather/stats/full.aspQuote:

Canadian Border Guard: State your nationality.
Traveler: Maggot
Canadian Border Guard: Purpose for travel to Canada?
Traveler: To use up your snow, your beer and your women.
Canadian Border Guard: ID please.
Traveler: [hands over stickers from the last three summits]
Canadian Border Guard: Eh.
pro - i might spend the season there.
con - sometimes their grooming is a bit lackluster. don't you hate it when it snows 60cm's and they lay down that shitty 'roy thats all soft and get shralped in an hour? ;)
Count me in. I live an hour and a half away.
Pro - 50% off on lift tickets with a Mammoth pass.
Also, when I skied there in April, many years ago it was like skiing in all 4 seasons due to the huge amount of vert. It could be dumping winter snow on top, bluebird sunshine in the middle, corn near the bottom, and a puddle to ski around (or over) next to the lift.
