This just in: The side bar ad thing sucks ass. It fucks up the TRs' and other pix, too.

But I agree, it does mess up the size.
we're just playing around with some ideas.... it's our goal for this not to mess up the content- we're setting the content so it's minimum 900 pixels...
Adblock just takes the ads away, not the bar. Seems that large TR pix are not affected, however - on those pages the bar just doesn't appear. Still don't like everything squished to the left, however.
Hope this pays the bills.
Bills are insanely high.
We'll be slickening out the interface over the next month so that the skyscrapers are less invasive, along with a bunch of new features like blogs and tighter photo galleris.. hold tight...
as a side note- if you change the theme from the default in your options, you won't see any banners.

I agree with pechelman, splice in or put on the bottom, it annoys on the side. It's totally asymmetric. al.

The sidebar is far less intrusive than reading ads in the middle of a thread.
I totally understand the need to make some money and underwrite the expenses of the site. Good on ya for trying new things.
