Light weight on a Bro

I have been seriously thinking of getting a Bro. All the advice and information I've come accross has me leaning toward the new production of the softer bro in a 174.

I'm 5'6 at 120 lbs, and have skis in my quiver that range from 64 in the waist up to 94 in the waist.

Thanks to some awesome advice from this group when I bought my Karmas, I experienced my love of a midfat ski. Now, I am finding myself going wider in the waist all the time, while my own waist is staying the same.

Do I need the Bro? No
Do I want the Bro? Uh huh!

All the advice I've gotten so far has been:
I'm heavier than you and I ski a 179, so a 174 would be fine.

Is there anyone my size on a Bro?
I'm not scared of it, in fact I'm almost aroused by the idea of it, but I'm curious about light weights like me on this ski.

I'll be at ABasin the weekend of January 25th and was told I should try to hook up a demo with marshalolson. I'd really like to do that!

I will not admit nor deny that there are any naked pics. ;)

As for bklyn, I've chatted with her a bit. She is one of those who've said she's not as light as I am. I'm hoping to hook up with her on one of my trips to Colorado this winter.

Another question? If I buy these, will I lose my fear of jumping off cliffs?

Regardless, owning two pairs of 188s hasn't cured me of that fear, so it seems unlikely.

Hmmmm, I'm comfy with 4'ish drops and would like to advance from that, but you are correct that losing the fear of cliffs is probably not wise at my age.

All other factors considered, even if you are really lightweight, I would suggest 2 BROs... It's just easier that way.

All you need to figure out is how soon you need them delivered, girl.

Thank goodness MY waist has not grown at the same rate as my Quiver Waist!

They were supposed to ship from Suisse yesterday, but I just found out they won't ship until next Wednesday.
But at least they're coming air freight.

I have been asked some questions as to my intent with these via pm and would like to avoid repeating myself. so here goes

I have the Bluehouse MR171. Its awesome for turn shape and float, but such a noodle I'm not sure it would hold up in the crud. I'm thinking I'd like the Bro Soft because it would be stiffer than the Bluehouse, yet softer than the stiff, which I hear is VERY stiff.
I'll be skiing these occasionally in Michigan, but also have a season pass to Abasin and will likely take them out there.

Satisfy your desire and just get them. You sound like you can handle them.

Skiing at Boyne this weekend, with a big fun group. Come on up!

i only have the stiffs, but i think you should try both the 164 and the 174's.

it should help you dial in what length and flex you want better. if you like the turn shape but want a little softer, then BAM, if you like the little shorter sitffer one then BAM. etc....

i can also say i normally only ski on 190+ skis and am thus far very very impressed with the 183's.

I'll be getting in touch on my first trip to Abasin.
By the second trip I'll have a pair in my possession!

last year I had prototype 168's (search under me to find pics, mini review) that delamed and pat sent me some 174's for warranty, and I will mount ASAP. I was hesitant with the longer length, but after looking at them and comparing the 2, the running surface is less then an inch or so longer than the prototypes. (remember, I did delam and glue them a few times, so the shovel rise might of changed using a K2 PE as a "mold" to set the shape) BTW, I'm 5'4" 140, my other skis are 173 BD Havocs (about an inch taller than Bros) and 163 BD Crossbows mounted tele (which felt short for me when they were my AT setup.)

i'd just like to hijack this thread and say that i will also be visiting MO as soon as my back gets better to (if they're in stock) demo either some 188's or 179 fats (or both). I'm thinking about ditching the gotama/bacon combo and just going back to my tried/true one-ski-quiver setup with either of those two bros. 6'2" 175 lbs here.

my dad moved up to harbor full time, I've got a season pass at nubs and am up there alot. easyrdr is at boyne mt a bit too.

I live in Cadillac, and usually ski at Caberfae and Crystal due to location. Skiing at Boyne this weekend with a big group. Love Nubs compared to most anything around. The hills are nice but the atmosphere is small hill awesome.
