Don't know if this has been posted about allready, but did a search and found nothing. MSP has the trailer up for their newest film titled "Push". Some pretty unique and interesting angles/lighting for some of the shots. Put down TGR and MSP's latest efforts all you want but in terms of cinematography they have come a long way. It says alot when the skiing and the level it is at today is almost a backdrop to the surreal images and angles they manage to capture.

I thought it was really good actually. I'm not a jibber and usually forward through that stuff, but damn, some of those styled out grabs in slo-mo really give you an appreciation for what those crazy kids are doin.
Can't say I cared for the song too much, but I think it fit well with their editing and I loved the cinematography.
Totally different than TGR's Teaser for the Teaser, which I thought was awesome & hilarious too. I'll buy 'em both most likely as usual.
I thought it was good too. some of those shots are just set up really well. and MSP usually has pretty good music.... both them and TGR used the same friggen song last year. bullet and a target is a good one but..... i was suprised when i heard it in both movies.
I think MSP has definately worn out the superslow mo shot with the sunset background. its a sick shot, but this will be the 3year in a row they do it....and they usually over do it really bad in the movie with everyone on the damn team getting their turn.
i always buy both movies. looks like push will be good tho.
All I'm gonna say is you can bet your sweet ass I'll be at the Squaw premier. Sickness.

That looked pretty cool. They have done the heli slow-mo sunset shot 3 years running, but it's nice to see the athletes change it up with a switch double back. I'm a sucker for ski movies. Sure they could be better, but they still flat out rule.

And Trackhead, you're just right. We're all a bit jaded these days. I agree that we've probably had too many heli/sunset/jib shots per movie the past few years, but does anyone get criticized for doing the same heli big mountain kind of shot year after year? Are people tired of on-slope shots because you see them over and over? How about pow shots, where the snow is flowing over the shoulders with every turn. God, we've seen it a thousand times, year after year, all in the exact slow-motion frame rate.
What it comes down to is this: have you seen any film capture a booter with better filming, in more beautiful light than these MSP shots that people would rather criticize? No. What are we supposed to do, shoot mid-day, from the ground, with crap on the lens? No, you try to capture what's happening in the most incredible manner possible. If you're going to gripe about that, well, yes, you're jaded and an unappreciative whiner. If you dig it, cool. We want to set ourselves apart with our cinematography, and I think ours is far and away the best in the snowsports industry. I intend to put together a film this year that most people will be really stoked on. I'd like people to say it's the best ski film ever. The one guarantee? Not everyone will love it.
You've quoted me completely out of context and completely missed the fact that I was standing up for the shots. You cut your quote, where my "but" began. Well I loved what I saw so far and for sure will get out the credit card to purchase it. And I'll tell ya what. I'm just the water boy in mine and plakespears project, but you have no idea what those guys go through to put out a solid ski porn product to keep us entertained and stoked. MSP has some sick shots.
Repetitive (like everyone else said) but sick ass nevertheless.
I can't wait for next years MSP and TGR movies to come out. I will buy both for sure.
