Altachic's doctors orders

Talking to Liz this weekend, her doctor ORDERED her to ski only once a week until the beginning of February or the swelling will NEVER go down, it will never feel good. She has not been the most willing to comply, although she knows she should.

Normally I try to convince her to go and deal with it, halfway joking, but this time I'm forcing her, the best I can, to stay off and ski once a week till feb. So, the reason for the post is this. She'll ski anyway unless everyone is on her to not, she's got to be a 100% for the mini right?

Your knee better be healthy when I get out there. So take it easy for a few weeks. Because if you're still on the injured list when I show up in Utah, you're gonna have some expalaining to do.

Rest and heal up! You've been doing a lot on your knee already (which is cool - my doc said he wanted my graft to heal for a year before skiing - luckily timing and location made that bearable) but getting rid of swelling and stiffness takes time and rest. There's nothing you can do to catch up on rest when you're doing too much. Take the time off so it can fully heal and you can REALLY enjoy skiing pain-free again!

What's a guy gotta do to get a "I've got the prescription for you; One hot-beef injection!" Simpson's reference around here?

damn...harsh words. Good thing school begins for me tomorrow. I'll be filling up my ski time with things that need to be done, but have been avoided because i've been skiing too much.

i'll be seeing you all out there soon for the mini.

so, i don't guess i'll be seeing you at basin this week?:( you better heal up good and strong and not mess it up.

or you could use your one time for a trip up here this week!

Yeah, she told me this too last night too as I called her after a successful day of skiing for many years off 2 planks and on one.

AC, do what the doc says or you may end up hating it for a long time. You do not want to give up your passion for a measly few weeks out of your life. You gotta gape with me at Alta anyway, so please do not push it. I know you are very mad and frustrated, but hang in there.
