I'm flying solo to SLC Friday to get me home ready for Christmas. While time is short, I will be making turns alone for a few days. I havn't done this in years. I don't want to be stupid about it, but I don't want to be a pussy, either. Obviously, no BC. Maybe, some trees in familiar areas. I guess it's wise to stick to open and marked terrain. How many of you mags. ski alone? Any advise?
Skiing alone can be great. No waiting for other people or disagreement on what trail to go down. All you have to think about is skiing and how great it is being out there.
I bet you can strike up a conversation w/ somebody and have a few skiing partners before you know it. Even in familiar areas, it's good to ski w/ someone...but at least make sure someone somewhere knows where and when you went skiing.
And careful in trees, even ones you know, because if something happens and you're alone that's not good.

i went on a week ski trip alone. it's great. you get alot of runs in... no stopping.... you just make every decision on a whim. little exhausting though.

I go skiing alone all the time. It's nice jumping ahead in the liftline when you see a single towards the front... "SINGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!" I meet all kinds of cool people in a day.

Yep... done lots of trips alone, especially to the US... hooked up with some good people in Jackson, Big Sky, Alta... all over really.... Skiing alone might be safer in some ways, cos you don't have that competitive thing when you encouaged to ski unwisely....
