Once you navigate the moat and all the early season boobie traps there is some good snow up high. Go get some!

Another great day out there using the rewards of the upslope weather system we are experiencing….skiing well treeline and above. Skiing extremely defensive below tree-line… further east u go the more snow…
nice:
lake was skiing well yesterday, and with summit open we are setting up well. Nice to be out making some turns..
Side note: I'm back at Pulse bootfitting in banff if anyone needs some work done, and we also need another staff. Personality/customer service is needed. I can train the boot stuff to someone nice, but only room for ONE grumpy old man (me)

Norqy was thin! But we made it up and down! Less snow more west. I didn’t get the probe out but probably 20-30cm in the shade. 10 or less in the sun…lol. Still skied ok thx to the awesome work of the summer trail crew. Not going to make that mistake again…

Well now we know what's happening with Ex-Angel.
Got KH ski lift ticket vouchers for sale. Use any time, no blackouts. Minimum 2 for $115 each.
Fernie kicked off the season with an opening day that felt more like mid-February than late November. Most of the mountain was open and coverage was very good.
Best opening day we have had in memory for me. Enough of a crowd that it was tracked out my lunch but I skied every minute of it.
Pain cave today!
edit - if anyone saw me on bright orange noctas cartwheel on lift line at white pass..................preseason jitters? lol
So did anybody get out to SSV or Louise over the weekend? Looks like the warm storm did a bit of a refresh and I hope its made more of the rocks go to sleep. Hoping to sneak out of work Tuesday. Thanks
got out to LL yesterday. BIT wet at the bottom (for the rockies) but really nice overall. WIll help cover the sharks for a while.
I feel, unscientifically, like they are shutting down red more than they used to.
I have memories of riding that chair in limp mode being basically sideways... So, windy.
But I've seen a reasonable number of times in the last few years where it's not spinning at all.

They need to get that upper T-bar installed sooner rather than later. The liftline has been bare for decades.
Louise Conditions Report for Saturday the 7th and Tuesday the 10th - ~20 cm of mid density snow made for great storm skiing, great coverage for early December. Today was outstanding. Excellent coverage on whitehorn 1, fenceline gully, flight chutes etc. for this time of year. Good mix of leftover fresh, soft chop, and classic Louise chalk to be found all over. Best start to winter here since 21/22 Attachment 507077Attachment 507078Attachment 507079

Polar peak opened today. Cono came back just to ski it.
My partner, shackelton I’ll call him, blew first tracks with another one of his expeditions for that last sq meter of pow from 5 days ago, but that’s shakelton.
My first run was good, but caudtiis as I plan to keep sking betond 52, but solid.
Second run, I went at it, twice I was stupidly above somekind of cliff band, but the wind hammered, chalky, pow was worth it, I’d do it again, but send Shackleton first.
I’ll try to get a clip. But better find the guy who pulled the back flip, if he’s around.
Last day was a storm day

Love Canada.
30cm at Fernie at 7:20 am and still snowing!
Looks like it's a BMT 122 kind of day!
Edit: rain to the top of deer and super sticky below that.
Maybe I need fresh wax in the 122s because I could barely move... Switched out for skis that were waxed recently and doing much better.
Completely soaked at lunch time and need to stop to dry out.

Pretty good day today at LL. Obviously still need more base and more terrain open, but it was the best day of the year so far for me. Not that the bar was set very high...
no way, rain in fernie? who would have thunk?
Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good.
