Live music...in their prime thread

I've been enjoying watching some of my favorite bands play live, when they were at their prime. I like seeing them playing their best music when they were going off at their peak vs them as washed up 55 yr old's lol.

I'll start with live performance of Smashing Pumpkins for their release of one of their best albums, Siamese Dream in 1993.

So many others I could post up but what about you? What are the live performances from your favorite bands when they were at their best?

It's arguable that U2's prime was the War tour, but I think The Unforgettable Fire tour is when they first hit it big. I saw them in '85 on that tour.

Stevie Ray Vaughn at Radio City Music Hall in 1986 was at his prime.

The Grateful Dead had several primes and I was lucky enough to see them many times in 1989, which easily could be considered one of them.

Jesus, Billy looks like a baby. And that is one of the best start to finish albums of all time. It’s one of those that puts me in a Time Machine straight back to 93.

Start to finish awesome albums are so rare. I can only think of few. Pearl Jam Ten and led zeppelin houses of the holy come to mind.

The VHS and Audio Album recordings are different even though they both have the same name. Most notable is the recording of Sour Times. There are two pressings of the vinyl, one from the US and one from Germany. The German pressing is much better and excellent to turn up the hifi after a few drinks.

Yup, saw all those as well as a bunch of others, like Pink Floyd Seattle 1975, a bunch of other Zappa and Dead shows throughout the 70s and 80s. James Brown. Mother Love Bone Seattle Bumbershoot and The Central. PIL and King Crimson at the Showbox.

The Miles at Kix is on an album called We Want Miles.




The Dead at Dane County is on a bunch of servers.

At the Miles Portland show, 6 of us went decked to the tits in suits after having done a bunch of top quality blow. My buddy Kirk had gotten front row center seats. When Miles came out and stalked the stage, he took a look at us and shook his finger at us.

Cool thread idea. Like Peruvian, I saw the Dead a bunch in 1989 which was one of their primes, the Warlocks shows at Hampton were amazeballs.

REM at Radio City in 1987 (I think), that was near their peak.

I have said this before, but randomly, during the Dark Star Warlock shows, I just so happened to smuggle in a VERY fine bottle of Syrah, some Brie and crackers, and a plastic wine glass in my taper kit.
That was special, toasting the boys as that went down. Life moment.
