We're not big on camping in a field for three days at this point so we generally just go to a couple local festivals where we can commute or stay at a hotel locally. One of them, Levitate just announced their lineup and tickets went on sale yesterday. Pretty sick lineup although I know nothing about Brandi Carlile. Vulfpeck at Levitate has to be about my musical high point of 2022.

If Vulfpeck at Levitate wasn't the high point, I'd have to say Khruangbin, Beck or Billy Strings at Beach Road Weekend are right there at the top. Beach Road lineup is a little underwhelming this year.

Rhythym and Roots rhythmandroots.com/ is a low-key affair at a cool park. The lineup isn't out for this year yet but it's always good bands. Anders Osborne and Tab Benoit are recent highlights.

Knda thinking about the Peach Festival, the lineup is sick. But, Scranton? I dunno.https://thepeachmusicfestival.com/artists/

Oh yeah, Newport Folk Festival, it's a different kind of festival but very cool Billy Strings is playing this year.https://newportfolk.org/

Newport Jazz can be very cool too. Lettuce and Flexible Flyers were great last year. Billy Strings played there 2 years ago. https://newportjazz.org/

We’re anxiously waiting to see what’s up this year in BC. We typically hit at least two, sometimes 3 festivals over the summer. Last year’s return post COVID was fun with the Hornby Is festival, and Roots & Blues in Salmon Arm.
Considerations this year include Victoria Jazz Fest, Pemberton Music Festival, Salmon Arm R&B, and Hornby Is festivals. Lineups aren’t out yet for most, but mostly my wife’s work schedule dictates what we can attend.

Arts Wells (held in Wells & Barkerville) and Kispiox festivals being two we would love to also attend, but the former still trying to recover after COVID, and the latter being a two day drive away.

Wife and I also hope to take an extended vacation one year and hit up New Orleans, once the daughter gets a bit older. Wife has attended once way back when, and it’s on my bucket list.

We might need a thread to define south shore

Best Newport festival was on a boat. Only did it once. Hope to do it again someday.

I’m kinda over festivals. Rather see a good band at the narrows and call it a night.

Looking forward to seeing SCI in New England…

Also this is a very nice weekend to camp in a field… the morning campsite jams are about as good as the headliners.

Used to ski at Montage. Not a bad place.

Have tickets to Rocky Grass in July.

I’d like to check out the crossroads festival one of these years

Austin City Limits Music Festival is usually pretty good. Two weekends in October. They don’t have their lineup set yet, but probably over 100 different bands.

Yeah, I’d love to go to crossroads sometime, if they actually have another.

I'm going to the Savannah Music Festival at the end of March, it's not a festival festival, more like a bunch of acts playing different venues around the city over a few days.

Really just going to see Christone Ingram and Buddy Guy again and Tedeschi Trucks and because we're gonna be down that way but may catch some other acts. Don't know a lot of them but here they are: https://www.savannahmusicfestival.org/ If there's somebody we shouldn't miss please let me know.

I've been to and worked at 5 folks fests here up narth working the gate, construction, setup, kitchen, stage manager, security, cuz its a good way to really become a part of the fest.

You also get free admission, doing the setup gig you are all done before fest, the kitchen work is usually good for free food, gate is easy also you meet all your friends, construction is ok, stage manager is a very long gig

the last one i went to I just wandered around doing whatever job needed doing, I lost my bag of dope so the head of security gave me a bag, nice guy

I’m the Enabler of Self-Organizing Teams for the three bike valet stations at Sisters Folk Festival. https://sistersfolkfestival.org/

30-35 acts, 8 venues playing from last Friday night in September to Sunday evening
Brings about 5000 people to our hamlet of 3300.

I set up and take down the tents & bike racks, and give about three minutes of instruction to each valet team at start of their shift. Then spend my days/nights roaming around listening to the acts.

In addition to the main festival at end of September, there’s a smaller two day, two-venue mini-fest in June and another in late July.

^^Looks cool. I like The War and Treaty and the McCourys and Corb Lund.

I'm usually shy away from larger festivals, but I couldn't resist this lineup. Won't stay the whole time, but a lot I want to see.

Stoked to hear Grand targhee bluegrass festival is back this year!!

Always a fun weekend of mountain biking and blues grass. Just good vibes all around up there.

Pretty cool, in the past they let you set up and leave your chairs, blankets and hammocks in the venue all weekend. No carting that stuff in and out each day.

I have tickets for two days of Telluride Bluegrass this year, probably will camp too and fully enjoy the festival experience.

Also kind of went crazy on concert tickets in general this summer.

Does this happen in 2003? Just kidding, but it's an oddly dated lineup. I'll be there Friday for Run the Jewels, Osees and The Strokes.

I did wonder what year that thing happened when I first looked at that.
