Sirshredalot: You need to install the Greasemonkey extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748/ ).
After installing that and restarting Firefox, browse to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/25975 and click Install.
Once both Greasemonkey and the On-topic script are installed, right-click on the monkey icon on the bottom right hand side of the Firefox window, click "Manage User Scripts" and then edit the script. Change the "Off-Topic" forum in the code to "Political Asshattery", and you should be set. While you're in the manage scripts window, you should change the included pages from "*" to "http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/search.php*" so that the script doesn't accidentally mangle other pages.
This will filter the asshat forum out of search results and new post results.
