Well,I just got some pics back from some riding I did in Mammoth a couple weeks ago. Feast your eyes, then go out and ride your damn bike.

Damn, CS, mighty fine pics and some fun looking trails.
I have been biking long enough and still haven't done any lift served terrain. hardrider and Arty, enough excuses lets get up to Northstar and RIDE GODDAMN IT!!! :D

that is no excuse!! you do dardenelle's and toad's on that bike you can do northstar. maybe you won't be hitting dirt jumps or maching through boulder fields, but you can ride it.:pQuote:

Don't do it. It will forever taint you. I road my bike uphill for the first time today all summer, and almost died. Shuttle this, shuttle that, it's all we've done and I've become a lazy bitch. Of course, I've had a hell of a lot of fun doing it though.Quote:

You guys should hit up Mammoth. Not too far of a drive, plus, it isn't dusty like Northstar. You just have to learn how to surf the pumice. And hardrider, a bike is never an excuse biatch. ;)

So are any of those pics part of the DH course? I've been trying to get some beta on the course and have just heard that the top half is gnarly rocks and the bottom is the "surfing pumice" that you described. That'll be new...
edit: just looked at updates to the website - guess the course is Upper Velocity to Chainsmoke.
Oh, and absolutely amazing pics, BTW! You're definitely making me look forward to the race!

Upper Velocity is gnarly. I rode it once. And walked 2 sections that I didn't even want to attempt. It is super sandy/pumice. Way more than anything down low on Chainsmoke. There is nothing super techy on Chainsmoke, except that rock face, but it just looks scarier than it is. But Upper Velocity had some really heavy sections.

What days are you planning on being up there? I'm still working on finding accomodations - hopefully jumping in on a condo with some others who are racing. (Looks like Mr.AG isn't going to go at all now because of his knee.)

That rock face looks SWEEEEET. What's the run out like? I would think airing the whole thing would be a fast option (I think I saw pictures from a race where guys were really airing it out). Obviously, I'm living through AG at this point but at least I can dream about it. :(
