Mini Summit 2005: Yurp/La Grave

All this chat about North American minis is making me feel distinctly uneasy. I won't be able to make any of the summits...

There was a thread mentioning a 2005 Yurp mini but I can't find it. Anyway, I already said I would gladly help fix something up in La Grave and show people around. The dates mentioned were the final week of January.

Anyone interested?

The offer of a warm Mulletastic welcome is open to all anyway (obviously) but a gathering would be a lot of fun.

So, where would we fly into? Hostels nearby, because we're cheap? Just curious.

I'm interested, but I likely won't be going this year.....

Fly into Lyon or Geneva. Lyon is easier - 2.5hr transfer (Geneva 4hrs and tricky transfer unless you hire a car).

There is plenty of cheap accommodation in La Grave. Hostel/Gite from about 12-15 Euros per night. Reasonably nice apartments from about 80 Euros per week, depending on how many people you are prepared to share with (which works out cheaper than hostel because you can cook your own food so save on restaurant bills). The campsite is free in winter (and peopel do camp sometimes in January) :)

I'm seriously considering a La Grave trip this year, mini or not.

That's right. We're planning the week of the 22nd Jan. We'll stay in Alpe D'Huez and split the skiing between Alpe D'Huez, La Grave and maybe Serre Chevalier. There is dirt cheap accomodation in Alpy Doopy and we are hoping to have a few cars down there so we may be able to ferry a few maggots between resorts.

I'm definitely interested, even though the dates fall at the same time as SIA and ispo. But then, I never know what I'm doing until I've already pulled the trigger.

Oh, I most certainly do!! I've been dying to go to Europe again, especially France. I haven't been in 3 years! Crime!! I'm seriously considering ditching all my other plans for this. Wait...plans, what plans? Plans are made to be broken, anyway ;)
Really, I'm truly considering it. I'm hoping others will, too, because it's fun to travel with people. Maybe if I buy my ticket now, there will be no escape!

Hmm... Maybe the 2006 (I'll be 18) I'm encouraged by my cheap busses, and those still should be cheap 2006...

The only problem I could foresee for that is homework... Hell, who needs it? I'll just catch up :D Put me down for 2006, Mulletizer! (If I'm lucky I'll have no lessons monday morning, too. That way I'd get a chance for a shower that isn't freezing cold in the school changing rooms!)

Greetings for my first post here! A friend and I are already tentatively planning a trip to La Grave next year and would be interested in possibly hooking up. Our thoughts were to stay at Skier's Lodge there for a week-long guided trip but perhaps it would be good to have options to visit other areas and ski with folks from the site/states. Also thinking of a week in Switzerland to follow....Zermat, andermatt.
