Thread for ongoing Tuesday Seattle Area MTB rides
Okay, looks like Girlski, myself and a few others have agreed on trying to motivate for Tuesday night rides after work.
Going to shoot for 6:15p-6:30p @ Tiger Mtn. Trail head this Tuesday June 22. (followed by the pre-requisite beers in Issaquah!)
Post away for those that can make it.
I think that we all need to send good vibes BC FLow's way...his bike was stolen off of his car yesterday morning. He has assured me that it will only be a matter of time before he replaces it, but until then we might be one maggot less on the newly coordinated Tuesday night Preston rallies...:( People who steal suck!
i'll try to be there on tuesday depending on if my bike is fixed by then. I wont be able to make the beers though being as im under 21 but i'll just meet you guys in the parkinglot or something.
I'll be in the parking lot between 6:15p - 6:30p in a blue outback (ready for carnage). I have a feeling I'm going to get a beatdown! Anyone there- see ya then.
Girlski, if yer coming- I've been warned that you always catch on the 1/2 way portion and then leave everyone in the dust :eek:
well im a beginner and not very good so i doubt that i will be leaving anyone in the dust expecially on the climb.
To clear up any nasty rumors about me ripping on a bike...I will admit that I can hold my own climbing. However, the downhill is a different story. The word "wuss" comes to mind at times, but I am definately getting more aggressive with every ride. That falling shit hurts a helluva lot more on a bike than it does on skis!

Kick ass Ride tonight. Moving to Seattle from Park City (and Coloraddy before that)- I gotta say I'm impressed. To have rides like this close by to Skiattle, Damn I'm happy :D

the loss of my toy i can deal with. the sitting at home missing out on the fun part is a kick in the head.

yeah sorry about missing you guys last night. My POS truck actually broke down on the way up there. You may have seen me on the preston exit beating it with my fists. Anyway sorry i missed it and i will see you guys next tiome for sure.
It was a great ride for sure...and a little bit of a much needed kick in the ass! Squirrel and his buddy were good motivators to get a little aggro.
WC- would LOVE to do a weekend of riding in Bellingham. Not into super gnar downhill, but more cross country stuff with a good climb and an even better downhill. PM me with any suggestions and/or a weekend that you have free. We could get a group together to come up, camp, ride, and party.
Yep, BC, you were right. We started out with a pretty up tempo pace on the climb, right out of the gate. Took a breather to regroup about 2.5 mile mark and Girlski took over from there. We definitely rocked the climb- That Kissing the Trail book says this loop is about 2-4 hours- we knocked it off in just under 2 hours. The end of the NW Timber trail kicked my ass- all those little micro climbs were enough to deliver an ass kicking.
Trail was soft with only a little mud. Perfect for bunny hopping a bunch of the roots and rocks.
Can't wait until next Tuesday.
Climbing? climbing? we ain't need no stinking climbing :D We have a lot of xc riding, some shuttling that is not super gnar, and some shuttling that envolves a good amount of climbing. Since the routine seems to be figure out if and where and when we are riding the morning of said ride, i am pretty much always available. We could probably get mtbakerskier to even take photos if he ever gets a bikeQuote:

From speaking with MBS on Sunday at Chinook it sounds like that kid has a gear wishlist a mile long! I digress...I am serious about a Bellingham bike trip. Anybody have any plans the weekend after 4th of July? I was going to try to get over to Leavenworth before it gets too hot, but a guided tour up north sounds better.
Anything's possible!

WC- don't look at it as an obligation (quote "I guess I have to be there), look at it as an opportunity to drag your fellow mags around terrain they don't know and that you are well accustomed with. You get to initiate us. Plus I am sure that we will bring beers as payment!

I figure we could ride galbraith for as long as possible on saturday (hopefully more then an hour for me :D), then some sort of taco lobo/banditos/casa que mierda meal, with the more margaritas the better. then the usual saturday night stuff.... and then maybe a double diamond/ridge trail scramble on sunday if people are motivated. Plus there are dirt jumps in town now, and of course there is the gnar across the border!
I need a lighter bike!
Sounds all good, WC. I'm down for at least one day of riding.
Girlski, BC-Flow and I were talking about maybe having a little PacNW trip up to the mega park @ Whistler later this summer. I work in the industry and can score up to two hotel rooms- plus anyone that wants to camp- could make for a fun weeknd of riding, yaking, and maybe a little glacier riding.
Was thinking about the weekend of July 30. It'll warrant a whole nother thread, but if enough Sea/B-ham/Van. contingent are down- could be a fun way to welcome August.
I'm in for next weekend for either Sat or Sun. riding. Definitely want to hit the river one day, though.

Wednesday works perfectly. I am so tired and the mere thought of that f*&king climb makes me weak.
