One of the most annoying things that ever happened to me was when the hood on the old dump truck I used for firewood delivery popped open and crashed into the windshield while I was doing 50 coming into Truckee on 89N near Alder Creek Road. I was fully loaded with 3 cords of oak. Krystal Kartwright was in the passenger seat asleep when I started hollering. The look on her face when she woke up and saw the hood was amazing. Somehow I got the rig slowed and she guided me to the side of the road by hanging out the window. She tried to shut the hood by hanging on it but the spring had sprung backward so I had to smash it back with my falling ax.

I had an '81 Tercel that I put 180k on before selling it and it still ran great. I doubt I changed the oil 10 times. Gas and tires ($35 each) were pretty much the only cost to run it. Oh, and for some reason it went through a few exhaust systems, probably because it rode great in the snow but didn't have much clearance. I wish I still had that car for commuting. I take better care of my cars now.

I used to work a Sunday brunch buffet at a local restaurant where I was the omelette guy for mostly a bunch of blue hairs and their grandchildren. Being that I was usually still drunk from partying Saturday night, and barely awake, it was actually kinda fun and I got pretty good at it. Making a few hundred omelettes on a Sunday morning and getting tipped in enough pocket change to pick up a sixer and a 5th on the way home wasn't a bad way to work off a hangover.

I read about some cook in a Vegas casino who could do twenty omelets at once. Two is the most I can manage. Maybe I could do three but I only have two omelet pans.
