Got through to IS just fine. Road is in decent shape considering conditions
No one is on the road. Left dtown at 630. Half hour to ID Springs, roads are slick but not bad, plows have done a good job. ID Springs gots a lot of snow.
Are they doing periodic closures and only allowing traffic through for a period of time right behind the plows? Had no problems at all leaving Golden around 6ish? Hit the plows almost right away. If so, kinda smart to do it that way given the plethora of morons here.
Roads don't really seem bad at all considering near freezing temps. Hit the frontage roads to pass the plow barricades near gtown and floyd hill. Smooth sailing.
I70`s a complete shitshow... totally not worth it.
Left Arvada at 6am, took 6 up CCC, no traffic in Canyon, roads were as above, 70 was moving fine when I got there and moved well all the way to summit. Actually a smooth trip up and back today. I actually thought that maybe the closure kept the unprepared masses stuck at home. Didn't see many poorly prepared, poorly driven passenger vehicles. Semis never cease to amaze me though. I got jammed up at Keystone at 7:35 though. Took 30 minutes to get up and parked at ABasin.
May want to skip the frontage road
What am I looking at there? I was just on the FR and it was fine. Less than an hour from early riser to home.
Got to the Jane at 730 today with no stoppage in traffic the whole way from Denver. Ski'd the deepest lines I've ski'd all season and got back at 230pm with no traffic on way back. Well worth it.
Did anyone who was on 70 when it first opened at ~5:45ish catch the white Ford F-350 Dually/Quad cab pulling two sleds behind it being a complete moron? Was passing everyone when the plows were in front of the herd, then when they turned off..he started speeding up with his trailer fish tailing all across both lanes.
Shockingly easy drive back. Cruised the whole way back from WP a little after 2:30 with only a minor slow down at the 40/70 interchange. A lot of people were up there today.
That must be on the north side. We were on the south side and it was so easy, even Benny could it it.
Slept in and didn't even leave town until 10, 60+ the entire way. Easy drive down too. And wow, it was deep out there.
I'd like to thank the silverthorne PD for protecting and serving me a speeding ticket for going 62 in a 50 on US 6
From a friend.
