Just armor all'd the truck and washed the inside of the windshield last week before a mini road trip, wife hops in and within 20 minutes has her bare feet on the dashboard and up against the windshield. I almost lost it.
Also, this should go in the shit that annoys you thread...
Quality Friday content Splat, saved page 996 that's for sure.
i don't really have a problem with someone putting their feet/shoes on the dashboard in theory, but it's usually on the highway on a long road trip. i was never comfortable with it in town, just because the chance of accident was greater. but that was pre-airbags. in the era of airbags it's a different story and i hadn't thought about it until i saw that article.

Relied on the hired help/servants/slaves?
I absolutely love the way the new owners were all stealth for over a year and then ........POUNCED!!!
The original developer is long gone and the county didn't have an address for the HOA?
Who was maintaining the street?
Well, just because the county didn't have the right HOA address doesn't mean the HOA didn't exist or collect dues. So the HOA may have been "maintaining" the street. But really, in a moderate climate like that, how much maintenance was there? Maybe nobody was maintaining the street but nobody noticed because everything was fine. Until it wasn't.
No. The HOA failed to maintain a current address with the county. It had paid taxes for years. Someone should have noticed it was not getting a property tax bill. You snooze, you lose. The property was purchased, legally, through a noticed public sale. The HOA may not be able to redeem it.
I still don't get what owning the sidewalk gets you. The street itself is still Government property, no?
Pretty sure they got the street and all the common ground with included the sidewalks. Street can belong to the HOA. Google earth allot of these places don't appear to have garages. Gonna be some expensive parking places.
