Impressive
Sorry, no not my shots. If I had the pass and my kit, I like to think they would be a little sharper (how do you do the finger mustache emoji these days?).
That was a friend of a friend that got the photo pass through a local radio station he does stuff for on the side.
Didn't mean to pose like those were mine. Frankly, I was surprised I could even get the photos to post, and forgot to give proper credit.
I’m flying out to Denver soon to finally see Metallica with an old high school buddy. Never seen em and have wanted to since those hs days.

Saw Gillian Welch and David Rawlings last night, stellar as usual.
Going to Alison Krauss tomorrow at Red Rocks.
Saw Big Head Todd and the Monsters in Three Forks last Saturday. Didn't think to ask for change... :D
Whoa. Had no idea they were still playing. Best show I’ve been to was BHT and The Samples at CSU in early nineties.. Todd absolutely murdered his guitar. I was also extremely high.Quote:

I had to stop listening to The Samples when someone pointed out that Sean Kelly sounded like a caricature of Kermit the Frog.

Tonight's show: Alison Krauss and Union Station at Red Rocks. Pretty sweet.

I just realized that I taped 14 of the last 19 days. Whatever keeps you young!</p>
My good friend met his wife at Telluride BG many moons ago.
Anyone seen the Lumineers live? They are here in October. Worth trying to get close and pay, or should I just get decent tix and enjoy the sounds?
It is at the Amelie, which is where the Lightning play, so it is a decent venue 200 level or lower.
Live on Nugs also if you have that, with video. My wife is there this year.

My homie, who is a freelance entertainment journalist, was lucky enough to cover Night One of Metallica’s 2-night Bay Area stint.
I’m not even a Metallica fan, but he made me wish I’d gone.

Yes, she still has the voice of an angel. We were talking about that, how there are some singers whose voices I might prefer, but if you asked me what singer has the voice of an angel, she'd be the answer
Social Distortion at the Wilma in Missoula. Mike Ness is the kind of songwriting genius you wish would talk less between songs lol.

Kevin Morby opening for Waxahatchee last night. First outdoor concert of the season. Kevin invited VT musician King Tuff up to jam on his space flute.

Modest Mouse and Dirty Heads back to back at the amphitheater this weekend. Gonna be a long week.
Jenny Don’t and the Spurs
If this outfit is throwing down anywhere near you, go see ‘em.
OG style country with a side order of Old School rock n’ roll.
Jenny croons in a Patsy Cline vein and the lead guitarist is straight badass. The rhythm section ain’t too shabby either. Highly recommended

Fantastic Negrito came to town last night. We saw his act shortly after he was named the first Tiny Desk Concert winner in 2015 or so but when he was scheduled to play Jazz Fest in 2020 the pandemic shut it down. It took 5 more years and they had to move the show from the big room (800 capacity) to the small room and I doubt there were more than 100 folks in the mostly unresponsive audience. It was so quiet that he joked how it was like playing in someone's living room. His new album appears to be about his very difficult childhood which he is working out at 57 years old. He played a full 90 minutes but it was clear there was some frustration from the stage.
Fantastic Negrito opened for Primus last year at our local amphitheater. They were great. Such a trip man.
Who’s the bougie maggot in first class heading to Denver and you hitting Metallica too?
