Bikes and Brews, Concert on the Commons cancelled.
I however will still be biking and brewing, prolly dance a little to music as well this weekend.
I was kinda interested in tasting a few brews this weekend until I saw the $55 minimum entry fee.
I don't drink $55 of any brew in a year.
Had it been a doobie fest, well...

I wonder what the max capacity is gonna be next winter on a regular day.
That early opening of AV, Teewee and Sweetwater is gonna put some new angles into play for firsties and deep laps up on Sub and thunder will be further reduced as peeps racing from mid mtn. will be arriving that much sooner.
Yep, fat skis had a lot to do with the initial pussification of the vill. Now, it's managements embrace of the idea that all skiers should be allowed anywhere at anytime. I.e - schoolers taking beginning advanced skiers into the cooler first on a pow day. The best terrain used to be largely self policed by being available to the best skiers. Now any schmuck is welcome to scrape out the overnight 18" of pow first.
Rendezvous on April 1 & 2 when half of Jackson is on spring break in Mexico. And the other half in Hawaii.
Not me, I burn easily. Prolly be in Oregon.
Nice to see Fed conf cancelled.
Hey jh mags. Might be in town the beginning of october (1-5ish range) with my in laws who are outdoors-enjoyers but old, needing hips, and so forth. Do the tram or any (scenic) chairlifts operate at that time of year? We’ll hit the park as well but a lift assist might be appreciated by the olds. Thanks!
Pretty sure every lift conveyance will be closed by then.
Yo MW - Pretty sure that rideit is correct. On the upside, the Park access will be so much more enjoyable and with any luck, maybe some golden aspens hitting. Town will be easier to navigate and less busy with access to food without long lines.

I heard yesterday that the 2 concrete trucks made it to the top of the village so I'm assuming those bollards have been re-poured... hope so.
Drove to Bondurant to work for a friend and promptly got T-stormed out but upon arrival at home there was this excitement happening:
The main lift at Snow King had it's towers removed yesterday by Helo in a short weather window. It was damn impressive; the pilot pulled a tower, laid it down at the base within 4' of the last one and was ready to hook up the next one in under 3 minutes.
Watched with Cap'n Benny, Phil of the 1000 trams and some other locs.
After the first drop, the pilot requested we all move back 100' as the propwash from his base approach was gale force.
Good times.

I think it’s pretty clear we were talking about Jackson, bruh.
Bridget is not ‘in town’.
Bridget is pretty old these days.
The beach blanket bingo is just bingo now.
Anybody got eyes on this fire on Pine Drive?

FYI, we're seeing a surprising (to me) number of Covid breakthroughs of vaccinated folks. Don't let your guard down just yet. These folks are fairing much better than pre vaccine thankfully, but it still makes me uneasy.
I’m getting word of quite a few folks around here too. Some getting it bad! I have a couple clients in other states that are in the hospital after being vaccinated. 40’s and from what I know, very healthy. Not on vents but still sick enough to be in there.
School is going to be interesting.
In spirit, maybe.
I had a full speed massive explosion under that lift one day. It took me out for a few weeks. I can still here the Ooo's and horrified Ahhs from the chairlift riders.
Ah to be young. A crash like that would probably kill me now.
I think a high speed lift up the King will be a big plus for town workers looking to get in some hot laps on break. It's such a great little mountain. The planned thinning for tree skiing should be really cool too.
From the top, the new beginner run down follows the yellow line; Johnny Hunt is doing the digging with a backhoe at the red zone.

Richter...I doubt it.
I just wanna say that liftline there, with 12" - 20" of fresh on it is awesome.
Great pitch, underfoot variation, and constant vert with vert drop offs at the cattracks.
A Jackson Classic.
There should be a remake of “Phantom 309” for helicopters, with Richter at the controls…
Speaking of Ricks, it’s Rick Hunt doing the road…is his son Johnny?
Ahh, bummer, my ‘endurpo event’ is likely cancelled this weekend. I was ‘looking forward’ to over 6000 feet of climbing, and descending three stages in a blind format. Boo.

and it’s a trail building fundraiser, not a ‘for profit’ event.
