I use a Baryak with a Revelate harness and random dry bag. It does push it off the bars and cables nicely. You have to get used to a slight chopper/flip-flop steering feeling once you suspend the weight out front. But, it is not terrible.
I'll try to find a photo to help with this explanation of mounting. The part of the harness that normally mounts to the bars, I attach to the front most part of the Baryak. Then, the part of the harness that is usually attached to the head tube gets threaded over the stem (or through the "bars" of the Baryak. It works well and is very stable.
