Someone pee in your cheerio's bro?
We've probably seen the last DOJ investogation of any police force until we get a new administration.
Just got done watching "13th" on Netflix. Even though there is nothing in there that an intelligent, concerned citizen wouldn't know, it is very powerful. Thanks to whoever suggested it pages back.
So I went to court tonight to get a traffic fine reduced and I figured out why the system is so corrupt.
We have way, way too many police in every US town; they need something to do and that something is to stop citizens so they can collect money to justify their bloated police forces. So the poor fuckers who were not causing any problems for anyone and were arrested for petty shit get their pockets cleaned out. There were at least 100 people there, and I understand that this court is full like that 3 Wednesdays...every month. The whole thing is one big money grab and we need to choke off the supply of money. We need to stop passing motherfucking laws that allow the police to intrude in every aspect of our lives.
Less police, less stops, less police violence.
I'll take my chances with the supposed criminals that are lurking around every corner.
And holy shit, don't get me started on the lawyers in cheap suits and $50 Payless dress shoes that were there feeding off the system. What a mess. One lawyer got up with his client and thought the client was in on a drug charge. The judge turns to him and tells him the client was not there on a drug charge but shoplifting. The lawyer is arguing that it wasn't shoplifting it was drugs. It was surreal. Someone needs to make the bar exam harder to pass, or something.
The shop lifting must have had something to do with drugs, I mean its all drug related.
Even the traffic stops - Drugs
Or
Collect money.
Down here in MS I've noticed something. White people pulled over are in their car. Black people pulled over are out of their car and their trunks are opened. My white neighbor passed a cop over 120 mph, saw the cop, ran, crashed into a barrier when his brakes locked up on the off ramp, car totaled, spent the night in jail, but didn't lose his license. This kid has been in trouble with the law numerous times but never goes to jail other than a night in the clink.

Arresting black people on trumped up charges, getting them to plead out to avoid huge sentences is also a tool to deprive them of the right to vote and keep white people (ie Republicans) in power. Not only do you keep the "criminal" from voting, you keep everyone with a similar name from voting. That's a good reason for black people to give their kids unique names.
If they close down the special investigations unit led by Christy Lopez, POC & poor have a free pass in my eyes to fight back with any force at their disposal.
Could get very ugly.
Cops still have relatively safe jobs given the task at hand. The animus towards them is perfectly justified, and in a fitting way is just as sloppy as the application of law by popo.
Re: number of police... Chicago has around the same number they had 20-30yrs ago. They abandoned their gang unit and community policing in favor of tactical units of borderline retarded, wannabe SEALs. Big shocker they get no assistance from people they neither know nor respect.
Apathy and ignorance in leadership is poised to make a resurgence with DJT.
"A Milwaukee police sergeant who served jail time for letting his 13-year-old daughter drive and driving drunk himself with the child in his car is up for promotion to lieutenant."

Corbett, 46, was convicted of a criminal misdemeanor, driving drunk with a child in the car, in 2011. He served 30 days on work release, doing his job as a police sergeant by day and sleeping in the jail.
His then-13-year-old daughter told authorities Corbett took the wheel when she got lost driving back from a tavern after a day of hunting in November 2010 in Fond du Lac County. As part of a plea agreement, a ticket for Corbett's refusal to take a breath test was dismissed.
Driving a drunk parent around at 13 after hunting is a right of passage in Wisconsin though. I'm pretty sure the legal limit becomes .2 north of Madison during hunting season.

Jury can't decide
Cop says his brain is like spaghetti
Sometimes the cops let other people do there dirty work for them
Police release white man who shot and killed unarmed black man from inside his car, apparently in a road rage incident. Shooter had a previous charge for assault against another motorist at the same intersection dismissed. Shooter apparently followed the motorist and beat him.

Only for felony records, and it is a matter of state law. 3 states allow felons to vote in prison. Some states restore voting rights upon release, others upon completion of parole, others on completion of probation, others after a period of time after all of the above.
See the wiki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felony_disenfranchisement
And to clarify, Joe Pesci is not a felon, although he plays them in the movies.
Mistrial of Michael Slager, the cop who killed Scott while running away. If shooting a man in the back 8 times and planting a taser on him doesnt get a conviction nothing will. The prosecutor said they will have a second trial
Oh well nothing to see here.
