Agreed. Tahoe does suck, so everyone stay the hell away from here.
Hugh-If you're an asshole in real life, and an asshole on the internet, I commend you for staying consistent.
Never claimed to be a local. Nor will I ever.
My comment about staying away was sarcastic, mostly mocking you and your rant about how the place blows-maybe you missed that in "true TGR cunt fashion"
Glad you've decided I blow based on my e-persona, true to TGR fashion. You seem jaded and pissed off, truest to TGR maggot fashion.
Worst of all, you can't even take a compliment.
In case you're serious, Dr. Mireya Ortega. I drive around the lake to see her.

Peds DDS: Gilbert Trujillo in Reno is outstanding and a friend of mine.
Tahoe area? Nowhere else I'd rather live than here.
14.5k posts of negative drivel. wow man, that pretty fucking pathetic. maybe if any of them were actually funny you would have some redeeming quality but...... haters gotta hate

Rose was barely OK today. No chutes were open. Glad I didn't tour nor drive over to Squaw in these temporary mediocre conditions.
So, anyway... the skiing. Alpine was, er, interesting today. Definite freeze line right around where the Winter Road dumps into Mountain Run above Lakeview. Almost started to corn a bit, then refroze in the afternoon.
Oh, and did I mention the wind?
The mood is a lot better in general when there's dumpage.
Edit:
Rose conditions were dust on crust with variable supportivity. Worse than we had hoped and better than we had feared.
Still, a fantastic day was had touring out to Houghton, getting exercise, looking at the beautiful scenery and then there was the skiing. It was skiing! Still better than most things in life.
We took a walk into the hills on a cool winter day

The sky faded to dark and the time had come to rest

When we awoke, we saw a glass of wine above us

The snow in the glass was stable, aside from some localized wind slabs to avoid

Shall we follow the stem to the top of the glass?

Driver, quit thrunting and post your damn stoke in the right thread!
Don't you know that Tahoe sucks right now???? :)
Ha. I know it's the wrong thread but I just wanted to make sure you saw it :)
i don't know what all the crying is about. conditions are awesome out there.;)
had to go down to best buy last week and return something. leaving, duane bliss peak caught my eye in a 'i have to have you' kind of way. since the item wasn't in stock i would have to return this week so i made a plan to hit that while i was down in carson. wednesday was looking good. the weather held off and it seemed i would be skiing recycled pow, except the email saying the item arrived didn't come until about 1:00. so i made plans to go for a walk in the rain on thursday. picked up the item and headed out Jacks Valley road. Google maps said a road would go a long way up the mountainside, but i just wanted to take it to where I could start skinning. What Google maps didn't show was that the road became private (Jacks Valley Ranch) well before the end (like 3 miles). To top it off the land was all fenced so I couldn't cross country it.
but at least there was a tractor graveyard

I figured I'd give it a go from Spooner Summit, but when I arrived it was raining hard. It would have to wait.
Friday I went to Elephant Back with snuttypants. we had good conditions for one run before things turned sour. today i woke up early feeling energetic and after a trip towards emerald bay to capture the sunrise i headed back up to spooner.
2.5 miles later nacho was standing on the peak (you can always count on him for that pic).

the snow was variable. a thick stout but sun softened rain crust over unconsolidated deep sugary crap. parts of it skied ok though and it's a decent line. steeper than i expected overall which is a good thing because i was expecting overly mellow.

and a short video from both days that in no way captures the overall conditions, cause there was plenty of horrendous too. i had low expectations tho and wasn't disappointed.
Solid ---------
powdork - hands fucking down you get some good shit. Even when it's shitty.
How fast can nacho run? I'm thinking about 40mph...
